🌍 Navigating Flexible Work Environments Sustainably 🌍 Did you know that enhancing employee offerings can play a crucial role in creating a more sustainable workplace? Let’s explore how small changes can lead to significant impacts! 1. Tailored Flexibility: Understand that flexibility looks different for everyone. Offering a mix of remote, hybrid, and in-office options allows employees to choose what works best for their roles and lifestyles. 2. Tech Solutions: Leverage digital tools that enhance collaboration and productivity. Cloud-based platforms can reduce the need for physical office space and resources, cutting down on carbon footprints. 3. Sustainable Policies: Develop policies that encourage reduced travel and promote eco-friendly commuting options. For example, incentivising public transport or cycling can lead to a healthier workforce and a greener planet. 4. Employee Well-Being: Focus on mental health and work-life balance. Provide resources and support systems that empower employees to thrive in a flexible environment. 5. Continuous Feedback: Create channels for regular feedback to assess what’s working and what isn’t. This ensures that the flexibility offered meets both employee needs and business goals. By prioritising sustainability in our approach to flexible working, we can create environments that not only support our teams but also contribute positively to the planet. Let’s work together to foster a future where flexibility and sustainability go hand in hand! #flexiblework #sustainability #businessstrategy

CASE STUDY FROM ONE OF OUR CLIENTS. THE BRIEF In a briefing with a new client, their struggles to fill a long-term position was conveyed by the owners. The frustration, high turnover, wasted time and money and impact on the team were causing many issues. They had tried to fill this role quickly and it hadn’t worked. OUR APPROACH LMHR approached this scenario by defining the role more closely (including behaviours required), understanding how the role would fit within, and complement, the wider team and developing an engaging and robust recruitment process.  THE RESULT The role was filled quickly, with a motivated and perfect fit for a candidate. The team are very happy and the business has learnt how to make the most of their recruitment investments. A win-win.  If you need assistance, contact LMHR at hello@lmhrconsulting.com.au - we offer a free 30-minute chat. No strings attached.  #HR #australianbusiness #humanresources

MANAGING PSYCHOSOCIAL HAZARDS AT WORK LOOKING AFTER YOUR TEAM'S MENTAL HEALTH Psychosocial hazards like stress, heavy workloads, and workplace conflict can severely impact mental health. Creating a supportive work environment is essential under WHS laws. Here are practical strategies to manage these risks: 1. Spot the Stressors: Regularly check in with your team to identify stress sources, such as unrealistic deadlines, coworker tension, or unclear job roles. 2. Keep Communication Open: Encourage employees to discuss their concerns. Leaders should foster an approachable and transparent atmosphere. 3. Offer Support: Implement procedures to address concerns, provide access to Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs), and allow flexible work options. 4. Raise Awareness and Train Staff: Offer training on mental health, bullying, stress management, and conflict resolution for all employees. 5. Encourage Work-Life Balance: Promote the importance of disconnecting to prevent burnout. 6. Keep Checking In: Use surveys and casual check-ins to gauge team sentiment and adjust your approach. A proactive approach to psychosocial safety enhances individual well-being and overall organisational success. #psychosocialsafety #employeewellbeing #mentalhealthatwork
