The first cruise ship passengers of the season have visited Kangaroo Island, as tender boats from the Diamond Princess successfully docked at the temporary facilities in Penneshaw. 🚢☀️⚓ Major port upgrades are underway at Penneshaw and our project team has installed a temporary landing site to ensure uninterrupted access for all cruise passengers coming ashore. The cruise ship industry is an important contributor to the local Kangaroo Island economy. The Cape Jervis and Kangaroo Island Ports Upgrade will deliver safety and efficiency improvements to support economic growth in the region as well as freight and transport routes for South Australian produce. Beacon 19 Boat Ramp Upgrade Project in Goolwa https://lnkd.in/g2djUuZM Magryn is proud to have contributed coastal and maritime engineering expertise to the significant upgrade of the Beacon 19 Boat Ramp, a vital access point to the Coorong National Park near the Goolwa Barrage. Officially opened in September 2023, this $1.9 million project, supported by the State Government’s Economic Stimulus funding program, was developed for the Alexandrina Council and executed by McMahon Services Australia in collaboration with Goolwa Jetty Builders. The Beacon 19 Boat Ramp is now a premier boating facility that promotes Goolwa and its surrounding areas as a prime boating destination. The upgraded facilities are designed to encourage greater opportunities for linking Beacon 19 with the natural attractions of the Coorong and Lower Lakes, including bird watching, walks, and other marine experiences

Magryn is proud to have an ongoing partnership with McMahon Services and the Department for Infrastructure and Transport, in particular in relation to the Cape Jervis and Kangaroo Island Ports upgrades. Our team showcased exceptional engineering skills, completing a variety of critical tasks under a stringent timeline. Our work included conducting wave overtopping assessments, performing hydrographic surveys with our in-house jet ski, executing dilapidation surveys using drone technology, reviewing temporary structures and designing temporary navigation light poles. This project highlights our quick responsiveness and expertise in coastal, maritime and structural engineering.
