Our Freshwater Sub-committee are maintaining pressure on Northern Beaches Council following the Notice of Motion that was discussed at Council’s meeting of 30 July. As pictured, this in-depth motion prepared by Chamber Exec Committee member Andrea Costi of Just Architects, included longterm aspects on lighting, signage, active transport. With summer fast approaching the team joined with Council last week for a walkaround and are focused on action around hygiene and scheduled cleaning for our beautiful Village. The bins (both number and recycling) along with bubbler installation, which will have an impact on waste reduction, have been prioritised by our team for action. We look forward to continuing work with Council to ensure these are addressed ahead of the summer season. #hygiene #highstreet #recycling #summer #placemaking #cleansing

Our Freshwater Sub-committee put forward a Notice of Motion for Northern Beaches Council’s June meeting which called on all Councillor’s to support a proposal to revitalize Freshwater Village. Following engagement with key Freshie stakeholders, there has been overwhelming agreement that the Village has been neglected and recommendations for short, medium and long term improvements to Freshwater were presented by Exec Committee Member Klaudia Brown on behalf of the sub-committee. The short term operational budget expenditure recommendations would bring about an immediate improvement to the #safety, #liveability and business environment of Freshwater, with items including increased bins, expansion of lighting, speed limit review and increased cleansing schedule highlighted in Motion.
