Our team have had an incredible week celebrating Queensland Tourism Week! 🙌   It all began with the Visit Moreton Bay Region team, with thanks to Brisbane Economic Development Agency (BEDA), walking the blue carpet at the launch of Bluey’s World. Huge congratulations to Tourism and Events Queensland (TEQ) for their successful global campaign, using Bluey to inspire travelers worldwide to explore the beauty of Queensland!   Over the last two days, our team attended Queensland Tourism Industry Council’s Destination IQ – Australia’s leading First Nations tourism conference – and the Destination Q Forum, where industry and government leaders came together to shape the future of Queensland tourism. Well done to QTIC on facilitating two great days of thought-provoking content and discussions looking towards the future and the 2032 Olympics and Paralympics.   As Tourism Week comes to a close tonight at the Queensland Tourism Awards, we wish the best of luck to the talented Moreton Bay operators (BIG4 Holiday Parks of Australia Sandstone Point Holiday Resort & Hip Hops Brewers) and our very own Visitor Information Centre Network and Volunteer Program up for an award. As a long-time resident of the Moreton Bay Region for over 50 years, Nicky possesses an intimate understanding of the region and its unique offerings. 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗠𝗕𝗥𝗜𝗧 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗿 We are excited to share that our CEO, Natassia Wheeler, has accepted the role of Chief Executive Officer at the Queensland Tourism Industry Council (QTIC). Tash’s final day with Moreton Bay Region Industry & Tourism (MBRIT) will be 6 December 2024, and she will commence her new role with QTIC on 16 December. Since joining MBRIT, Tash has made an outstanding contribution to our organisation and industry. Under her leadership, MBRIT has been restructured, refocused, and positioned on a solid path forward, consistently exceeding deliverables across our KPIs and contracts. On behalf of the Board, we thank Tash for her dedication and achievements and wish her every success in this next chapter of her career. We also want to assure our partners and stakeholders that MBRIT has a strong transition plan in place. The Board is confident in the interim leadership arrangements, which will ensure stability and continuity as we continue delivering on our commitments. 🍽️🍷 Expressions of Interest Now Open for 2025 Moreton Bay Food + Wine Festival 🍷🍽️ The Moreton Bay Food + Wine Festival is thrilled to announce that Expressions of Interest (EOIs) are now open for participation in the 2025 festival, scheduled for August 22–24, 2025. Following the overwhelming success of the 2024 event, which saw two of its three days sold out, the festival is poised to be bigger, better, and more delicious than ever. The festival is seeking EOIs from producers, culinary demonstrators, distillers, breweries, wineries, food trucks, market stalls, entertainers, media partners, corporate partners and groups, as well as staff and volunteers. This approach aims to showcase the rich tapestry of talent and products that contribute to the vibrant food and wine culture of Moreton Bay and south east Queensland. 🌴 Bribie Island Takes Over Australian Traveller Media! 🌴 As part of Visit Moreton Bay Region’s strategic PR efforts, the region has been prominently featured in the prestigious travel publication Australian Traveller Media, highlighting the incredible experiences Bribie Island has to offer. The activation includes a native article in the Australian Traveller summer print edition, an online article and display banner suite on australiantraveller.com, a social media post and EDM feature. The online story has an average audience of 20,405 people and an ASR (advertising sales rate) of $9,874 AUD, while the print story reaches an audience of 127,000 and an ASR of $6,921 AUD. This is a direct result of the Visit Moreton Bay Region PR team, funded by the City of Moreton Bay, and proudly delivered by Moreton Bay Region Industry & Tourism (MBRIT).
