It was an honour to host the Hon Joe Szakacs MP, South Australian Minister for Trade and Investment and his team in McLaren Vale yesterday, to discuss the state of McLaren Vale's key export markets and strategies to help re-build the reputation and performance of South Australian wines throughout our major markets. McLaren Vale Grape, Wine & Tourism Association looks forward to working closely with the Department of State Development over the next few years to further develop these strategies and activities.

Sending a huge congratulations to the team at Thistledown Wines. A wonderful accolade for a delicious wine. 👏
🌟 Grenache of the Year 🌟 Honoured to announce that we are the winner of the 2025 Halliday Wine Companion Grenache of the Year award 😍 In a poignant twist of fate, This Charming Man 2023 Old Vine Single Vineyard Grenache was sourced from fruit grown on Bernard Smart’s Clarendon vineyard, and the winning 2023 vintage was the last that he supervised. Thanks to the Wine Companion team and our top notch taster Marcus Ellis. You'll hear more from us but for now let's raise a glass of This Charming Man Grenache 2023 to the late Bernard, Wayne and the Smart family, and our Thistledown supporters near and far 🍷 #grenacheoftheyear #grenache #oldvines #mclarenvale #thistledownwines #masterofwine #98pointwine
