Last month, Colac Otway Shire Council, Meli staff, and Winifred Nance Kindergarten staff and students celebrated the official opening of the new play space. The project was made possible by a $300,000 Building Blocks Improvement grant from the State Government, complemented by more than $54,000 contributed by the council for the outdoor renovations. Happy faces all around, and just in time for the warmer weather!

💗 Celebrating Foster Care Week, 8-14 September. Meet Jesse, now 18, who has spent his most important milestones with Raelene, his Foster Carer. From school achievements to holidays, his first job, learning to drive, and heading off to university, Raelene has been there every step of the way for nearly 13 years! Unfortunately, Jesse's story isn't the norm. In VIC, more than 9,000 children are currently in out-of-home care, but the need for safe homes far exceeds the number of available Foster Carers. Every night, there are kids in our community who are longing for a place to call home. Here's how YOU can make a difference: - If you have a spare bedroom, you can apply to become a Foster Carer. - Singles, couples (including same-sex couples), and families - with or without kids - are all welcome to apply. Meli offers ongoing training, education, and 24/7 support for our Foster C arers. Together, we can create brighter futures! What an amazing success! Our Foster a Future Breakfast and Appeal launch was a sold-out event and a hit with everyone! Congratulations to our raffle winners! A special shoutout to fantastic MC Myf Warhurst, inspiring keynote speaker Kate Langbroek (for making us all tear up), and the talented Kim Cooper for her soulful entertainment that delighted our guests.
