Meningitis Centre Australia joins World Health Organization in Defeating Meningitis by 2030! The 26th of April 2024 marks a major milestone in the journey to tackle the devastating impacts of #meningitis. Held at the Institut Pasteur in Paris, this will be World Health Organization (WHO) first high-level meeting to defeat meningitis. The event will be hosted by the French government and will be a global call to action to boost commitments towards defeating meningitis by 2030. Meningitis Centre Australia is proud to be on the strategic advisory board as a civil organisation and will be part of this day, committing to continuing to advocate for #Meningococcal B, raising awareness and supporting. This is a critical moment for advocates and civil society to come together and celebrate the occasion, whilst calling for much-needed change. STORIES LIKE THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN 💔 thanks to Tim for sharing and for choosing to raise funds as a way of educating others and healing. “It’s Meningococcal Septicemia - we are going to airlift him to the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne,” the doctor told Mum. But my brother Andrew didn’t take that flight, and by 9 pm that night he had passed away. We were expecting to see his cheeky grin and adorable blue eyes again. I want other families to know that this disease is unforgiving, and it can take just 12 hours to tear apart a family and take the life of a person so young 14/03/91-16/08/00.
