Growing support for men and boys

About us

Men’s Resources Tasmania is a community based, not-for-profit organisation that supports and promotes the well-being of men and boys in Tasmania. We contribute a male voice to community conversations and public sector policy, particularly around social, health and wellbeing issues relevant to men and boys. We operate primarily through volunteer involvement, with some support from member organisations. We're keen to work with other organisations and individuals to see improvements in help and support for all men and boys. When boys and men do better, the whole community does better.

  • We're excited to see our mate @Ivan Cunningham at it again this November with the 7 Swim Challenge. Ivan has been swimming daily for close to two years now, and is again adding in a fundraising effort. We're so grateful again for Ivan's support, this year for our project to revise and relaunch the Dads Book, one of very few resources available to new families through a focus on dads. You can find out more or download the first edition of the Dad's book at our website, and make a donation to support Ivan's efforts at: https://lnkd.in/gFTr_9KY Ivan Cunningham @phoenix.counselling #7swimchallenge #dadsbook

Consultant clinical psychologist Martin Seager, shares his insights into male mental health, and how working with the Samaritans, he used an innovative training technique to double call times from men… in just one year. So is it time we stopped asking men to talk, and instead challenged ourselves to listen to what they’re already saying? What do you think? 🙌🏻 💭 We want our children to believe – I am capable and confident in myself and my ability to take on challenges and try new things.   When children have a consistently engaged and involved father or father figure it positively impacts a child's self-worth, self-esteem and confidence. Both boys and girls benefit in different ways by the way their father engages with them and helps to build their confidence. You can read more about this on The Fathering Channel: https://lnkd.in/exKFMHuE

  • Cool! We you will be if you check this out. There are a growing number of positive role models and awesome young guys who can positively influence the young men we're all concerned about, so lets share this news... So if you've posted expressing concerns about the influencers you don't want young men to engage with, hopefully you'll post this one too.

CEO at The Man Cave & Founder at Stuff That Matters | Forbes 30 Under 30

Absolutely stoked to share some exciting updates! 🚀 STUFF evolves into Stuff That Matters, clearly inferring our social purpose and ensuring we are more memorable as we scale. ⭐️ Our new Brand Ambassadors are NRL Superstar, Kalyn Ponga, and AFL icon, Bailey Smith. Both elite athletes are authentically aligned to our mission, speak openly about their connection to mental health and have cult followings with young men. 😎 We have refreshed our packaging and brand identity to pop on shelf. If we are all about breaking outdated stereotypes...then let's break some bloody stereotypes! 🔥 We are launching a new line of aerosol Antiperspirant Deodorants and Body Sprays. More than 80% of the 5,000 men aged 18-35 we interviewed wanted us to develop a high performance Antiperspirant...so we did it! You can find them across the country at Woolworths Supermarkets this week ✅ 💙 What hasn't changed is that Stuff That Matters supports life-changing mental health programs via The Man Cave. Our core purpose and 'why' driving everything we do. A heartfelt thank you to our incredible team, board, investors, designers, partners, and customers who have supported us consistently through our short but potent journey! 🙏🏼 www.stuffthatmatters.com
