Stepping into Mental Health Month, we want to highlight the alarming rise in mental ill health. Mental ill health is rising at an alarming rate, with almost 2 in 5 young Australians now living with a mental illness — a 50% increase over the last 14 years. We recently conducted an online poll to ‘pulse check’ Australia’s mental health. Your responses were incredibly impactful, thank you! 🧡 Take a look below 👇 to get a glimpse of our findings and dive into Professor Samuel Harvey's powerful call to action! We are proud to say that a number of joint recommendations Suicide Prevention Australia made to the Royal Commission into Defence and Veteran Suicide were included in the final report. Three joint submissions were made to the Royal Commission with key sector organisations, including Mental Health Australia and Relationships Australia, resulting in 14 recommendations fully addressed and four partly addressed in the final report. We will continue to advocate for the full implementation of the Royal Commission’s recommendations.
