The Migrant Women Professional Network is dedicated to supporting and empowering migrant women in Adelaide, South Australia. We understand the unique challenges faced, from navigating the job market to overcoming cultural barriers and language differences, all while balancing work and family life. Through networking, knowledge sharing and social connections, we provide a supportive environment where you can connect, learn and grow together both personally and professionally. We meet on a monthly basis to network and learn different topics! Look out for our monthly events!

    September is such a busy month with so many great events for migrants! I will be taking a back seat this month to spend some quality time with my family visiting from Malaysia.   • TAFE SA Multicultural Women's Leadership Course Expressions of Interest for the 2025 program are now open! This program is about giving women from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds with leadership aspirations the chance to further their skills through a free training program. Delivered through TAFE SA, as a FREE* part-time course over two years, participants will receive training and opportunities to further their leadership skills for work and community settings. It includes modules focussed on building capacity for decision-making, communication, and advocacy skills, along with networking and career planning opportunities. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates will earn a Certificate IV in Women’s Advocacy (Leadership), a nationally recognised qualification. An online information session will be held at 6pm on Wednesday 16 October 2024.     We have reached 1000 followers on LinkedIn! Thank you so much for all the support over the past 20 months! We started with 30 participants in January 2023 and now, we have welcomed over 800 participants to our monthly events from over 50 countries! So much to celebrate! Our event Resilient Mind: Mental Toughness for Migrant Women had approximately 90 women from 40 different countries celebrating resilience! Thank you Raquel Dillon for reminding us that we are resilient, moving to a new country and leaving everything behind! Our speakers TINGTING STONE, Silvia Silva, Silvana Forlini and Raquel Dillon were kind enough to share their own stories of resilience which really empowered everyone in the room! Thank you to Kala McLean from Women's Community . Centre (SA) Inc on the collaboration and for sharing the wonderful work you do at the centre.
