Decorating our living spaces involves more than just aesthetics, it can significantly impact our energy, mood, and overall well-being. Let’s explore how colour and furniture choices play a role: 1. Colour Psychology and Energy -Colours have a profound effect on our emotions and energy levels. Here are some common colour associations: Blue: Calming, promotes relaxation. Red: Energetic, passionate. Yellow: Cheerful, uplifting. Green: Refreshing, harmonious. Neutral tones (grey, beige): Soothing, versatile. Light vs. Dark Colours: Light colours tend to make a space feel more open and airy. Dark colours can create coziness but may absorb more heat. Balance: Consider a balanced colour scheme to maintain harmony. 2. Furniture and Functionality: -Ergonomics: Choose furniture that supports comfort and functionality. Properly designed chairs, desks, and beds can positively impact our energy levels. -Clutter: A cluttered space can drain mental energy. Organise and declutter regularly. -Natural Materials: Opt for furniture made from natural materials like wood or bamboo. They evoke a sense of calm and connection to nature. -Layout: Arrange furniture to allow smooth movement and flow. Avoid blocking pathways. -Lighting: Proper lighting affects mood and energy. Natural light is ideal, but warm artificial light can create a cozy atmosphere. 3. Consulting Interior Designers: -Experienced interior designers can transform spaces based on your preferences and lifestyle. -They consider factors like room function, lighting, and colour psychology. -Larger furniture companies often offer consultations to guide your choices. Remember, your home should reflect your personality and enhance your well-being. Whether it’s a cozy nook or a vibrant living room, thoughtful design can positively impact your energy and happiness. 🏡✨

DID YOU KNOW…. Architecture Used to Be an Olympic Sport From 1912 to 1948, architecture was indeed an Olympic event. The 1912 Games in Stockholm hosted competitions in architectural design, sculpture, painting, literature, and music, drawing inspiration from the culture of the ancient Olympics. Although these events were non-athletic, the entries often reflected a connection to sports and athleticism. Pierre de Coubertin, the father of the modern Olympics and founder of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), originally envisioned art competitions as part of the Olympic program. In the ancient Olympics, there were competitions for music, singing, and public speaking, and de Coubertin aimed to revive this tradition. At the Olympic Congress in Paris in 1906, he recommended introducing art competitions, and the idea was embraced. The first-ever architecture competition occurred during the 1912 Stockholm Games. Entries in all categories of the art competitions were required to establish links between art and sport. The architecture competition allowed both built work and speculative designs, including town planning projects. The gold medal in architecture was awarded to Eugène-Edouard Monod and Alphonse Laverriére of Switzerland for their town planning project titled “Building Plan of a Modern Stadium”. Here are some other notable moments in Olympic architecture: -1928 Amsterdam Games: Dutch architect Jan Wils won the gold medal for the Olympic Stadium in Amsterdam, which hosted various Olympic sports. -1936 Berlin Games: Austria’s Hermann Kutschera received the gold medal for his Skiing Stadium design, although it was never built. Additionally, the Reich Stadium by Werner March and Walter March won gold in town planning. The massive scale of the Reich Stadium aimed to showcase the rising power of Nazi Germany. -1948 London Games: Austrian architect Adolf Hoch secured the last-ever gold medal in architecture for his Ski Jumping Hill on the Kobenzl. However, after the 1948 games, the IOC abandoned the Olympic art competition due to the increasing number of professionals participating, which contradicted the spirit of amateur competition. Although the Olympic Art Sport Contest was briefly revived in 2004, it has not been part of recent Olympic events. So, while architecture no longer graces the Olympic podium, its historical connection to the games remains a fascinating chapter in both artistic and athletic history.

🏢 Feasibility Studies in Property Advisory 🏢 Property development is a thriving industry, offering abundant opportunities for investors and developers. However, achieving success requires meticulous planning and thorough analysis. Feasibility studies play a crucial role in this process. Here’s why they matter: -Risk Assessment: Feasibility studies identify and evaluate potential risks associated with a project, including environmental, regulatory, and financial risks. -Financial Viability: These studies help determine whether a project is financially feasible by estimating costs, revenues, and profitability. This information is essential for securing funding and ensuring a solid return on investment. -Informed Decision-Making: Feasibility studies provide data and analysis, allowing developers to adjust their plans or abandon a project if it proves unviable. -Legal Compliance: They ensure that the project adheres to relevant laws and regulations, helping avoid legal pitfalls. Remember, a well-structured feasibility study serves as your roadmap to successful property development ventures! 🌟🏗️

DID YOU KNOW ABOUT.... Cook's Cottage Originally located in Yorkshire, England, and built by the parents of Captain James Cook, the cottage was brought to Melbourne by Sir Russell Grimwade in 1934. Astonishingly, each brick was individually numbered, packed into barrels and then shipped to Australia. Navigator and explorer Captain James Cook never lived in the cottage – he’d been away from home for almost 10 years when his father built it – but this connection to the Cook family was enough to prompt Grimwade to transport the cottage to the other side of the world. Combining modern interpretations of Captain Cook's adventures, centuries-old antiques, a delightful English cottage garden, volunteers dressed in 18th century costumes and a new interpretive space in the stable, Cooks' Cottage is a fascinating step back in time.
