✨ It's fantastic to be back at Foster Secondary College , kicking off the second year of our Driver Distraction awareness program!  We're incredibly excited to once again partner with South Gippsland Shire Council Council, VicRoads,  and the dedicated team at Foster SC to empower students to create impactful VR films about road safety. 🎬 Last year's program was a resounding success, with students producing thought-provoking VR experiences that truly captured the dangers of distracted driving. 🔗You can revisit some of their inspiring work here: https://lnkd.in/gmEvuJVx 🚀 This year, we're building on that momentum, equipping a new cohort of young filmmakers with the skills and technology to make their own powerful statements about this critical issue. 🗓️ Just last week, our Mindflight7 instructors, Jared Morgan and Anthony Ernst joined forces with John Ernst from South Gippsland Shire Council, VicRoads representatives, and teachers Callum Sheriff and David Ellison from Foster SC to launch this year's program. The energy was palpable as we dove into a 90-minute session designed to inspire and educate. 🗣️ The session began with John Ernst sharing the "why" behind this important initiative, emphasizing the real-world impact of driver distraction and the vital role young people play in promoting road safety. We then delved into the world of VR and 360° video, giving students a hands-on tech induction and a fun warm-up VR activity to familiarize themselves with the technology. The highlight of the session was a group discussion and showcase, where we shared some of last year's student-created VR films. Seeing their peers' work brought the project to life and sparked a lively conversation about the creative possibilities of VR filmmaking. 🎯 The goal is to not only educate these students about the dangers of driver distraction but also to inspire them to become advocates for road safety within their community. We believe that by empowering them to create their own VR experiences, they can connect with their peers on a deeper level and make a real difference.
