Achieving better, healthier outcomes for premature and sick newborns and their families.

About us

Miracle Babies Foundation is Australia’s leading not-for-profit organisation that supports premature and sick newborns, their families and the hospitals that care for them. Every year in Australia around 48,000 newborn babies require the help of a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) or Special Care Nursery (SCN). 25,000 of these babies are born premature and up to 1000 babies lose their fight for life. For families, the experience of having a baby come into the world not as expected or planned is life changing. Without support, this overwhelming and traumatic experience can have lifelong effects on the emotional wellbeing of these miracle families. It affects the entire family unit. Since 2005, Miracle Babies Foundation has been passionate in developing and providing vital programs and resources to support and enhance a family’s experience from a threatened pregnancy, hospital journey with a premature or sick newborn, the transition to home and beyond.

Last week, our CEO Kylie Pussell attended the MCaFHNA Brisbane 2024 Conference - Innovations 'Driving Change for Better Outcomes'. Miracle Babies had an oral presentation and our Nurture E Information Hub poster at the conference. We received some fantastic feedback and are so grateful to have been invited to share about our Nurture E Information hub, which assists you and your family through the different life stages of your growing and developing child beyond the baby, infant, and toddler years, through to adulthood.

Will you give the gift of a lifetime? Include a Charity Week is this week, so we’re asking the big question - Will you include a charity in your will? Leaving a gift in your Will could provide support to hundreds (or even thousands) more families with a premature or sick newborn for years to come. It costs $715 to provide support to one family through their first year after leaving the hospital and with more than 48,000 babies born requiring specialised care each year, your support could make a big difference. You can utilise an online Will platform like Gathered Here which allows you to create your Will online and you can leave a gift to Miracle Babies Foundation if you wish, otherwise get in touch with us directly for information to provide to your solicitor. You can find out more information by accessing our Bequests page on our website: https://lnkd.in/g5JiMBvk

Miracle Babies Foundation is incredibly grateful for the support of Hyundai Help for Kids, Corporate Partner of Miracle Babies, who have helped us provide vital resources to families in the NICU or Special Care Nursery at Regional NSW Hospitals, supporting them to navigate and cope with the experience of having a baby in specialised care and also to provide support to bereaved families. We are also incredibly grateful that our miracle families received invitations to a couple of football games and had a wonderful VIP experience. Miracles Babies was chosen as the recipient of the 50-50 Charity Raffle, raising almost $5000 on top of our partnership funding. Thank you Hyundai Help for Kids and the Sydney Roosters for this extra special support! Read more about our partnership here: https://lnkd.in/gnzBH7Nk
