At Raise, we believe in the power of connection, no matter where you come from or what language you speak. Our diverse community of mentors and mentees reflects the richness of Australia’s multicultural landscape: 🌏 11% of our mentees were born overseas, and 27% speak a language other than English at home. 🌏 35% of our mentors were born overseas, and 21% speak a language other than English at home. These numbers represent real stories, real connections, and real impact. This International Women’s Day, we’re shining a spotlight on the incredible women who make up the heart of Raise – our dedicated female mentors who show up each week to change young lives. 💜 With 73% of our mentors being women and the majority of our team being women, these compassionate leaders are creating ripples of positive change across Australia through the simple act of listening, supporting, and believing in young people. No young person should feel less than because of who they are. Yet, the reality is that many young people experience discrimination: 🔹 66% of mentees who listed discrimination as an issue said it was due to body image or appearance. 🔹 44% faced discrimination because of their mental health. 🔹 38% because of their race. 🔹 34% because of their gender. 🔹 27% because of their sexual identity.
