We recently held an HR Panel event with Tim Henry at Peoplecorp HR Recruitment Specialists titled, “How will the role of a CPO evolve over the next 5 to 10 years?”. Here are our 10 key takeaways from the session: Economic Adaptability: CPOs are shifting from traditional HR roles to also acting as "Chief Performance Officers," focusing on productivity and profitability amid economic challenges. Social Responsibility: As diversity and corporate culture gain prominence, CPOs must effectively communicate company strategies on these issues to investors. Technological Integration: The rise of AI and automation is reshaping HR functions, requiring CPOs to harness data insights to enhance workforce efficiency. Elevated Employee Expectations: Today's employees expect high engagement levels and quick responses to their needs, prompting CPOs to treat them as valued customers. Navigating HR Complexity: The HR landscape is increasingly intricate, necessitating CPOs to prioritise high-value initiatives that justify resource allocations. Strategic Collaboration: CPOs are encouraged to partner closely with executive teams and take bold steps to improve organisational impact. Core Competencies: While adapting to new trends is essential, maintaining core HR skills remains crucial for flexibility across various industries. Changing Leadership Roles: Modern leaders must exhibit qualities like empathy and authenticity, with HR playing a pivotal role in enhancing collaboration among teams. Expanding HR Influence: The role of CPOs is growing to encompass corporate governance and community engagement, reflecting HR's importance in shaping organisational culture. Innovative Tech Adoption: Tools like "Concrete Playground" and AI-driven comment summarisers are transforming HR practices, improving efficiency and reducing manual workloads. Thank you to our panel, Benjamin Morris, Group Head of HR at Mirvac, Nupur Bhushan, previously CEO / General Manager ANZ at ResMed and Kristen Sweeney, Group Executive People & Corporate Affairs at Sydney Airport. If you’d like to discuss any of these insights further or explore opportunities to support your HR needs, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Stephen Moir or Tim Henry. #HRLeadership #CPOEvolution #FutureOfHR #WorkforceTrends #EmployeeExperience #HRTech #LeadershipDevelopment #PeopleAndCulture #StrategicHR #OrganisationalImpact #MoirGroupEvents #Peoplecorp

Is your company ready for the mandatory ESG reporting in 2025? With the clock ticking towards Australia’s new climate reporting laws, businesses are facing significant challenges in meeting Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) goals. To understand how companies are coping, Moir Group recently conducted a survey with attendees to our "Futuristic View on ESG" webinar held earlier in the year. While some companies are making strides, many are still struggling with resource constraints, data capture, and balancing external pressures. Key insights from the survey: - Incremental progress, but many companies are still in the early stages of ESG integration. - External drivers like customer demand and regulations are pushing ESG adoption. - Resources are stretched thin, with key personnel already managing multiple roles. - Data capture remains a top challenge, particularly with 2025's reporting regulations approaching fast. The road to ESG transformation is complex, but it’s also an opportunity for companies to lead the way in sustainability. Our latest blog explores these challenges and provides strategies to help your business prepare for the future. At our recent event, Paul Bloxham, Chief Economist for Australia, New Zealand, and Global Commodities at HSBC, shared key insights on why Australia is holding strong in a challenging global economy and why interest rate cuts are still a distant possibility. Here are some highlights: - Australia’s population boom is keeping the economy afloat, but weak productivity is a growing concern. - While inflation is gradually easing, don’t expect interest rate cuts until mid-2025. - The housing market continues to defy expectations, with prices climbing despite higher interest rates. - Globally, the future is still uncertain, with major risks like the US election, China’s struggles, and ongoing geopolitical tensions. We did it! Yesterday, Andrew Pownall, Stephen Moir, Chloe Thomas, and Emma Walsh took on the J.P. Morgan run around Sydney's Centennial Park, conquering 5.6 km together. Moir Group is proud to celebrate teamwork and support the health and wellbeing of our staff as part of the world's largest corporate team-based running event. While the team is feeling a bit sore today, they’re proud to have pushed through and crossed the finish line! We’re already looking forward to the next one. #JPMorganRun #CorporateChallenge #Teamwork #Fitness #Wellness #CorporateEvent #ChallengeCompleted
