We are proud to lead Victoria’s annual Cultural Diversity Week (CDW) to celebrate cultural diversity, a week which is centred around the importance of the United Nation’s (UN) Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. Did you know that it’s against the law in Victoria for employees to be discriminated against on the basis of their race, including by employers and other employees? Employers have a legal obligation to eliminate race discrimination. This International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, know your rights about race discrimination in the workplace. Read the Victorian Equal Opportunity & Human Rights Commission's resources to learn more about how to identify racism at work, how the law protects you and how you can take action for yourself or a colleague: • Fact sheet: Racial discrimination in the workplace - ‘What are my rights?’ • Guide: Bystander in the workplace Download the resources in your language: https://lnkd.in/ghbfSAuB #IDERD #CDW2025 #EmbraceTheJourney #ShapeOurFuture #VMC

As we celebrate Cultural Diversity Week this week, let’s take this time to recognise the power, influence, and vibrancy of Victoria's multicultural and multifaith communities. At the Victorian Multicultural Commission, we honour the traditions of Nowruz and the values it represents, celebrating the diversity that enriches our society. Also known as the Iranian or Persian New Year, Nowruz welcomes the arrival of spring and renewal. Once observed primarily by Persians and Iranian communities, Nowruz is now embraced by many cultures worldwide. As a celebration of new beginnings, peace, and prosperity, it strengthens bonds among families, communities, and nations. Recognised by UNESCO and the United Nations, Nowruz stands as a powerful symbol of unity and cultural heritage. #Nowruz #PersianNewYear #CDW2025 #EmbraceTheJourney #ShapeOurFuture #MulticulturalVictoria #VMC #UnityInDiversity
