As Ed Newton-Rex emphasises, tech companies can't expect to take artists' work for free while investing millions in talent and resources. #RecogniseArtAsWork

Libby Harward, a descendant of the Ngugi people of Mulgumpin (Moreton Island) in the Quandamooka, is an artist whose work deeply engages with decolonisation and reconnection to Country. In this video, Harward discusses the importance of self-care while balancing her art practice and supporting other artists, and emphasises that being an artist is a serious, viable career filled with opportunities to express strong, political ideas. 📹 Watch NAVA’s latest Artist File with Libby Harward: https://lnkd.in/gN7R_REs

NAVA is advocating to exempt art prizes, grants, and fellowships from taxation and revise unfair business rules that prevent artists from claiming deductions. With inconsistent and low incomes, these changes would better support artists and sustain the visual arts sector. #RecogniseArtAsWork #NAVAmember
