As part of the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts' Broadcast Resilience Program (BRP), BAI is enhancing broadcast resilience across regional and remote sites hosting Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) local radio and emergency communications services. In support of the BRP, our team is installing gensets to provide standby power to selected sites across Australia. The gensets – stationary power supply sources that consist of an engine and a generator with automatic transfer switching - bring resilient standby power to the BAI network. With onboard fuel providing several days of runtime, surrounding communities will have access to broadcasts in case of a power failure during times of natural disaster. The devices also enable emergency services to communicate reliably and to coordinate relief efforts. The BAI team and our partners are working tirelessly behind the scenes to get the gensets ready for the upcoming emergency season, ensuring they are set up for optimal performance. Getting the calibration just right can make a big difference for efficiency during the life of the asset.
