This award underpins Orion’s commitment to developing host community economic participation as we progress towards production at Prieska Copper Zinc Mine. Quebar Electrical and Civil Construction has successfully expanded its areas of competency into the underground mining environment. This will position the company to expand its horizons beyond its traditional areas of strength in the renewable energy sector and enable it to compete in the mining sector – within the rest of the Northern Cape Province and potentially throughout South Africa,” said Orion Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Errol Smart.

Prieska Copper Zinc Mine donated new seating to the mother and child ward of the Ethembeni Primary Health Clinic. The seating area will now allow patients attending the clinic, located in Prieska in the Siyathemba Local Municipality, to wait inside the clinic instead of the outside seating area. This is particularly important during the cold and rainy months. Orion Minerals is dedicated to making a meaningful impact in our host communities.
