Our flagship Mine, Grootegeluk wrapped up their back-to-school campaign this week through their education-focused initiatives. The annual learner-hygiene drive, aimed at restoring dignity and confidence in local learners by providing essential personal care items. This year, they joined hands with employees, unions, and contractors and the response was incredible! Through this initiative they managed to reach 863 learners across three schools within the Lephalale Municipality. A huge thank you to everyone who contributed! We've come to the end of what was an exhilarating Investing in African Mining Indaba 2025 full of insightful perspectives, deep learning and the forging of new connections. Day 3 of the Investing in African Mining Indaba saw our Chief Sustainable Impact Officer Mongezi Veti participate in a panel that unpacked the urgency of having to future-proof African communities from the effects of climate change. He reflected on how Exxaro has positioned itself to drive impactful transition as a strategy to unpack these challenges. For us, the Mining Indaba serves as an important opportunity to expose our young talent to the circulating discourses that inform the work that they do in our operations and our sites. It's day 2 of the 2025 Investing in African Mining Indaba and we're still at it! We are Exxaro. Exxaro is us and together we make it work. Our Chief Growth Officer and the lead of our diversification work Richard Lilleike was on a panel that explored the causes and courses of the energy transition on the African continent, and underpinned the importance of symbiotic stakeholder relations across the mining value chain. To commemorate #WorldCancerDay, we partnered with Reach For A Dream Foundation to visit the Zakithi Nkosi Clinical Haematology Centre of Excellence at Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital. It was a day dedicated to honouring the strength of children diagnosed with cancer - young warriors who face life-threatening illnesses with incredible courage. Through uplifting activities like a special puppet show, creative art and craft sessions, and thoughtful goodie bags, we aimed to bring smiles and moments of joy. It was also an opportunity to reflect and remember those we have lost in the fight against cancer. At Exxaro, we believe in powering possibilities, not just in business, but in communities. Commemorating days like #WorldCancerDay is vital in shining a light on critical issues and bringing stakeholders together to make a meaningful difference.
