Lindy Lee AO’s Ouroboros and Abundance have now been officially unveiled at the National Gallery of Australia. To celebrate this historic moment in Australian Art, Lindy Lee has designed her first-ever jewellery collection titled Xiaolong, meaning ‘little snake’. This collection takes its inspiration from Ouroboros and its pure ABC Bullion gold companion creation Abundance. Xiaolong is the first jewellery collaboration of the Pallion Arts Program allowing artists to create jewellery using the world’s most considerate precious metals, Australian ABC Bullion gold and silver. This exquisite collection is limited to 25 units each globally and represents the deep cultural and maternal connection Lindy has with gold and jade. The collection includes a bespoke ring, earrings, cuff bangle and pendant. Xiaolong represents a new model of creative philanthropy and the proceeds from the sale of the collection will be donated by Lindy Lee and Pallion towards cultural programming at the National Gallery. When art and fashion collide - thank you to Alistair Trung for designing the models’ amazing gowns and styling this magnificent showcase. Thank you to Delia Silvan for choreography. The collection is available for purchase through the National Gallery. #Pallion #LindyLeeXiaolong #NGA

Lindy Lee AO’s Ouroboros and its companion creation, Abundance have now been officially unveiled at the National Gallery of Australia. Abundance is the first artwork and collaboration of the Pallion Arts Program. The first reference to the ouroboros was found in Tutankhamun’s tomb so it is fitting its companion Abundance has been crafted from pure ABC Bullion gold sourced from Mount Rawdon near Lindy Lee’s birthplace. As the Federal Minister for the Arts the Honourable Tony Burke and Director of the National Gallery, Dr Nick Mitzevich communicated this week Abundance will be part of the Art Across Australia program and travel across Australia telling the inspirational story of Lindy Lee, Australian gold and Ouroboros. Abundance is on long-term loan to the National Gallery from Lindy Lee and the Pallion Art Collection. #Pallion

Historically gold has been used in traditional medicine for thousands of years due to its biocompatible characteristics. In the last decade, numerous studies have demonstrated that gold-based metallodrugs hold great potential to become the next generation of cancer treatment drugs. RMIT University's gold drug compounds have exhibited significant anticancer activity across various cancer cell lines. This innovative research has garnered worldwide interest and Pallion is very proud to support this project with contributions of pure ABC Bullion Australian gold. Dr. Kenny Cheung, Head of Laboratory (ABC Refinery) and Clare Deloughery, Head of Philanthropy (Pallion) travelled to Melbourne this week to visit Prof. Suresh Bhargava, Prof. Magdalena Plebanski, Dr. Ruchika Ojha and the wider RMIT Research Team to tour the laboratories and gain a better understanding of this inspiring project. #Pallion #RMIT

Last night Pallion and ABC Bullion were very proud to receive the Champion Award at the Sydney Children's Hospitals Foundation (SCHF) Recognition Awards. The Champion Award recognises donors who are vigorous supporters for championing the health and wellbeing of all children and changing the landscape of children’s healthcare in Australia. This is a huge honour and recognises Pallion and ABC Bullion’s significant contribution to children’s healthcare for over a decade. A quote that was referenced throughout the evening was from Helen Keller on community, “alone we can do so little; together we can do so much”. Pallion and ABC Bullion’s partnership with SCHF is built on collaboration and connection in order to make a lasting impact on the lives of children and families in need - a legacy we are all so proud of. #Pallion #ABCBullion

Pallion was honoured to be a part of the First Nations Blessing Ceremony at Evolution Mining's Mount Rawdon Gold Mine to celebrate the provenance of the gold in Lindy Lee’s Abundance. This occasion, led by the Port Curtis Coral Coast traditional peoples together with artist Lindy Lee AO, marked a significant moment in the story of Abundance. As Andrew Cochineas, CEO of Pallion said ‘the occasion presented the opportunity for everyone involved in the creation of Abundance– particularly Lindy, whose birthplace is not far from Mount Rawdon – to engage with the local Indigenous leaders and receive their blessing for the gold that was sourced from Country and forged into a piece of art for all Australians to enjoy.’ The next stop for Abundance will be Canberra where it will be on a long-term loan to the National Gallery of Australia from Lindy Lee & the Pallion Art Collection. #Pallion

The engagement of First Nations communities and the importance of sustainability has been central to Lindy Lee and Pallion for the first collaboration of the Pallion Arts Program, ‘Abundance’. ‘Abundance’ is the companion creation to Lindy's most ambitious project to date ‘Ouroboros’. Both artworks symbolise birth and death, renewal, and regeneration. The first reference to ‘Ouroboros’ was found in Tutankhamun’s tomb, and it seems fitting that its companion creation ‘Abundance’ has been crafted from pure ABC Bullion Australian Gold. Reflecting Pallion’s core principles, ‘Abundance’ exemplifies sustainability in art with the sculpture incorporating gold refined by acid-free practices. Furthermore, significant measures have been taken to minimise the carbon footprint during the artwork’s production. ‘Abundance’ also symbolises the renewal of Mount Rawdon and the future of Australian mining as the Mount Rawdon gold operation transitions to a sustainable hydro power station after the mine’s production concludes later this year. This week Lindy Lee AO and the Pallion team visited the Evolution Mining Mount Rawdon gold mine with the Port Curtis Coral Coast traditional peoples of the regions including Bailai, Gurang, Gooreng Gooreng & Taribelang Bunda to partake in a traditional blessing ceremony to celebrate ‘Abundance’ and the provenance of its gold. First Nations Elder, Uncle Shayne Blackman communicated that it was fitting for ‘Abundance’, an artwork representing the ancient practice of making art from gold to be blessed by the world’s oldest living culture. ‘Abundance’ will now travel to its home at the National Gallery of Australia where it will be on long-term loan from Lindy Lee and the Pallion Art Collection. #Pallion

Abundance, the companion creation to Lindy Lee’s most ambitious work to date Ouroboros is crafted from over 50kg of pure Australian ABC Bullion gold, a choice that reflects both Lee’s artistic vision and the fusion of two significant Australian industries – precious metals and the arts. Lee says of the work, “the Ouroboros is an ancient sigil of the snake that eats its own tail, denoting unity and eternal cycles of birth and death. Abundance is a golden Ouroboros punctuated with tens of thousands of perforations, casting a shifting pattern of light and shadow across its luminous golden surface and the surrounding space. The mesmerising dance of shifting light and shade is emblematic of the dynamic connection between body and spirit.” Abundance will be on long-term loan to the National Gallery of Australia from Lindy Lee AO and the Pallion Arts Collection and publicly unveiled the 25th October to accompany Lee’s self-titled exhibition. #Pallion #NGA #LindyLee

Lindy Lee’s ‘Abundance’, her defining artwork created in collaboration with the artisans at Pallion was celebrated at Pallion Headquarters today in Sydney. ‘Abundance’ has been made from more than 50kg of pure ABC Bullion gold and is valued at over AUD$10M, bringing together two of Australia’s most important industries – precious metals and the arts. ‘Abundance’ enabled through the Pallion Arts Program, allowed Lindy Lee AO to practice the ancient tradition of creating an artwork from precious metal. Lee collaborated with the artisans from Australia’s oldest surviving goldsmith, WJ Sanders. ‘Abundance’ puts an important spotlight on endangered skills in the Australian economy and the need to preserve these skills to enable creative excellence. ‘Abundance’ will be on long-term loan to the National Gallery of Australia from Lee and the Pallion Art Collection, and go on public display from late October. #Pallion 7NEWS Australia
