Holly’s tenacity, development and leadership over her 3.5 years with the foundation have led to this appointment. We are excited to see Prince of Wales Hospital opening the Precision Care Clinic today. The first of its kind in Australia, the Precision Care Clinic will integrate precision medicine into routine cancer care.  

We started from humble beginnings in 2004 with a small but meaningful donation to fund a wheelchair accessible bus for the transportation of spinal unit patients and their carers. Over the past two decades we have been able to raise over $65 million to fund groundbreaking research and medical innovation across cardiovascular health, cancer, mental health, diabetes, kidney, and many other areas for a healthier tomorrow. Today, we’re celebrating 20 years of pioneering new ways of prevention, early detection, and treatments to save lives. None of this would be possible without the incredible support of our community of supporters and donors and we express our gratitude as we continue to evolve and grow to meet the everchanging needs of healthcare at POWH. Prince of Wales Hospital is preparing for the seasonal increase of patients requiring urgent and life-saving medical care. The emergency department alone will treat over 3,000 patients over the holidays – more than any other time of the year. Additionally, more than 500 patients depend on radiation and chemotherapy treatments, and 400 more will need life-sustaining dialysis – so our hospital becomes ‘home’ over the festive season. The dedicated hospital staff become their ‘family away from home’ by giving heartfelt, compassionate care to every patient.
