A powerful mentoring movement creating thriving communities across Australia
About us
Based in high schools, we provide young people with a caring, independent volunteer mentor who shows up each week, just for them. With time to listen, one-to-one support with a mentor gives young people a voice, empowering them to cope better, today and in the future. We've recruited, screened and trained over 7,200 volunteers to become youth mentors. These incredible, everyday people show up week after week as an independent, caring and trusted mentor. Together we've supported over 10,700 young people. Every program is managed by our qualified counsellors who oversee the smooth, safe and successful delivery of our programs. We can’t remove the barriers and challenges that young people may experience throughout their adolescence and the rest of the lives, however, through our program, young people are equipped with the tools, skills and resources they need to support their mental health, social and emotional wellbeing and engagement. Empowered to use these skills, teenagers are more able to navigate the complexity of adolescence and the challenges life may throw at them.

Why Being a Raise Mentor Has Been a Life-Changing Journey As I complete my second year as a mentor with Raise Foundation, I can truly say that this experience has transformed my life. The connections you build with your mentee are incredibly special, and the friendships with fellow mentors often become lifelong bonds. There's so much we learn from each other—mentoring is a journey of growth for everyone involved. What Makes It So Rewarding: Sharpened Parenting & Life Skills: Mentoring enhances your listening, empathy, and understanding Being a Trusted Confidant: You provide a safe space where young people can share things they might not feel comfortable discussing with others. Meaningful Connections: The relationships with your mentee and fellow mentors are deeply rewarding. The support and learning from each other are invaluable. Fantastic Program Coordination: The Raise team makes the experience seamless, offering incredible support and guidance along the way. But here’s why it’s crucial: The numbers we need to change—Do you remember the most recent incident of Charlotte, a Year 7 student at Santa Sabina College in Strathfield, in Sydney's Inner West, and so many others face the following realities: 💙 Suicide is the leading cause of death for young people. 💙 1 in 4 young people feel lonely all or most of the time. 💙 1 in 6 young people feel negative or very negative about the future. 💙 1 in 11 young people are disengaged from education and work. Becoming a mentor allows you to make a direct impact on these tough statistics by offering hope, support, and a listening ear. Honestly, there are no downsides to this experience—just immense growth and fulfilment. #RaiseMentor #Volunteering #YouthSupport #MentalHealthAwareness #CommunityImpact #PersonalGrowth #raisefoundation

We’re proud to partner with Canaccord Genuity Australia in supporting young Australians as they explore new career pathways. It was incredible to see the students engage with your Melbourne team during this inspiring excursion. Thank you for being such a dedicated partner and for providing these valuable opportunities for the next generation to learn and grow. 💙
Today we hosted an excursion for 22 high-school students at our Melbourne office as part of our ongoing partnership with Raise Foundation youth mentoring – aimed at inspiring the next generation to explore careers in the finance industry. The students spent the day with some of our Melbourne staff, engaging in interactive learning activities in our boardroom. Raise Foundation is a national charity that creates thriving communities across Australia through the provision of youth mentoring programmes. The CG Australia Foundation has proudly supported Raise since 2022, reflecting our commitment to empowering children and families. This excursion forms part of the Raise Youth Summit, which aims to gather insights from young people through surveys, focus groups, and the Youth Advisory Collective. The Youth Summits are an opportunity to embed youth perspectives into Raise's ongoing processes and decision-making. A huge thank you goes out to everyone involved in making the day a success, including Amanda Thomas, Steph Hutson and Angelina Cirelli-Salomone from Raise, Max Martin for his presentation titled “Perseverance, Passion, Persistence”, and Marcus Freeman, Jayde Gouveia, Emma Curcio and Mia Herbert from CG. Registrations to become a Raise mentor in 2025 are now open. Reflecting on another year volunteering with Raise Foundation, it would be safe to say that again I got as much out of it as the mentees I worked with. Grateful again to Schneider Electric who not only support volunteering, but encourage it…
