The Principles for Responsible Investment's Spring initiative forms an important lever in the broader stewardship undertaken by Regnan on Biocultural Resilience and Nature/Biodiversity. It was great to be involved in the UN PRI Spring nature workshop yesterday.
“A lack of data doesn't mean a lack of risk. Understanding the risk in your portfolio cannot wait for perfect data to exist. Regnan is named after the Eucalyptus Regnans, also known as the mountain ash, which is the world’s tallest flowering plant. The Central Highlands state forest area is home to these Eucalyptus Regnans. These forests are the most carbon dense in the world, and produce about 12 million litres of water per hectare per year. These forests have a vital role to play in the water supply of Melbourne, protecting and maintaining biodiversity and capturing carbon. Regnan has just had its say about protecting these forests. And you can too! The Eminent Panel for Community Engagement is engaging with the Victorian community about the future of state forest areas following the end of native timber harvesting.
