Resilience Insurance is the first Australian company, sole provider, of Latent Defects Insurance (LDI). Resilience Insurance is committed to working with developers, builders, government, and property owners to understand their needs and develop and deploy appropriate, innovative, and internationally acclaimed insurance products. Expected to be mandatory in NSW by 2028, LDI is a specialised insurance that safeguards residential buildings and their residents for 10 years post-completion for significant structural defects that may occur, including waterproofing, design, materials, or workmanship in the building's structural elements. The product is only offered to builders and developers committed to supporting building reform across Australia who adhere to best practice standards.

Earlier this week Urban.com.au had the opportunity to interview those in the new development industry implementing and working across the important Latent Defects Insurance by Resilience Insurance We spoke with financiers, developers, and project marketers about the impact LDI is having on both purchaser confidence and confidence from lenders who are financing new apartment developments. I then got a chance to interview two of the guys championing LDI, (and two bloody good blokes) Stefan Hicks and Corey Nugent who talked about LDI's journey to Australia and how it has been received by the local market.
