While our industry has traditionally been male-dominated, we’re seeing more women step into key roles across our operations—from the weighbridge to mobile plant operators, administration, leadership, and beyond. Their dedication, expertise, and fresh perspectives are driving real change—not just for Rino, but for the industry as a whole. One standout example is Jenaya Brunt, whose journey with Rino exemplifies hard work, resilience, and career progression. Two and a half years ago, Jenaya joined Rino through labour hire as a spotter. Coming from a background as a chef with little industry experience, she quickly proved herself with her strong work ethic and commitment to our culture. She was soon brought on as a full-time employee, progressed to a mobile plant operator, and played a key role in commissioning and leading operations at our facility. Her impact has been significant—not only has she helped build a strong, high-performing team, but she’s also contributed to diverting thousands of tonnes of material from landfill. Last year, her efforts were recognised with a Highly Commended award at the WRIQ Industry Awards for Resource Recovery Employee of the Year.
