At Cleanaway, we’re transforming waste into valuable resources that fuel Australia’s circular economy. Through our resource recovery efforts, our teams are diverting waste from landfill, conserving our natural resources, and minimising the environmental impacts of resource extraction. In FY24, we achieved a number of remarkable milestones: - 208 kilotonnes of containers processed through our facilities via container deposit schemes in NSW, QLD, VIC, WA, and SA. - 23 kilotonnes of plastics recycled and shipped to third parties.  - 430 kilotonnes of paper and cardboard recycled.  - 104 million litres of waste oil recovered from customers and processed through our facilities. Together, we’re driving real change. Dive deeper into our journey and see how we’re making an impact in our FY24 Sustainability Report: https://lnkd.in/dRh99yP

  • Cleanaway is proud to be a bronze sponsor for SPE: A-NZ - Inspiring Plastics Professionals; Australia-New Zealand Section’s Reimagining Plastics: Australia’s Pathway to a Circular Economy webinar. The two-day online event delves into the pivotal role of plastics in Australia’s circular economy, and is designed for industry professionals, policymakers, innovators, and sustainability enthusiasts who are passionate about making a real impact. Head of Innovation Jeroen Wassenaar said, “It was a really positive first day yesterday with speakers highlighting the momentum that is building locally and internationally for a circular plastics economy supported by government, industry and community. It is moving beyond good intentions towards legally binding instruments that mandate plastics to be recyclable and packaging and products to be made from recycled content enabled by Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR).” Pictured here are SPE president Hamed Ghajarnia in his welcome address, and a presentation by our partners Viva Energy Australia highlighting our collaboration on soft plastics. #sustainablefuture
