  • Radio Normal, Episode 2 is tonight at Sanders Place. Grab a ticket and join the conversation between Finding Infinity & Kennedy Nolan Architects as they discuss sustainable building practices and A New Normal's blueprint for Melbourne. It's on tonight at 5:30pm with a 6pm start. Tickets and more below. Kennedy Nolan. Kennedy Nolan was established in 1999 by Patrick Kennedy and Rachel Nolan and has since developed a reputation as a design focused practice with a distinctive approach to built form. The practice is dedicated to the production of architecture that is highly responsive to its context and seeks to form a strong relationship with landscape. Design at Kennedy Nolan is generated drawing on the optimistic precepts of modernism -rational, utilitarian, empowered by technology - anda positive view that the design and arrangement of spaces can support and reinforce relationships, can add piquancy and zest to life. Less tangibly, the practice is also compelled to distil the impalpable – to draw on the reaches of memory, the evocative power of recognising form, colour, texture and light, the resonance of shared memories, of history and landscapes. https://lnkd.in/gFm-4_tS

Radio Normal - Episode 2 - Rachel Nolan & Patrick Kennedy Radio Normal aims to showcase A New Normal, a strategy that provides a proven process for co-creating a profitable, actionable strategy to transition a city to self-sufficiency within 10 years. Rather than a stand-alone, top-down strategy to transform the city, the goal of A New Normal is to co-create the future self-sufficient reality and urban narrative of our cities. A New Normal is designed to engage and familiarise the public with the transformation while informing politicians with public support and enabling businesses to provide the solutions. As a part of this transformation, Finding Infinity will be inviting top architects, designers, artists and key decision makers to open up the conversation on how we can develop culturally and environmentally relevant projects that assist in transitioning a city into self-sufficiency. Next up in the series we are hanging out with our good friends Rachel Nolan & Patrick Kennedy from Kennedy Nolan Architects, broadcasting live from Sanders Place. We will be discussing Wilam Ngarrang Apartments - a plus energy residential retrofit, the plumbers and gasfitters - a Graeme Gunn retrofit to take the plumber and gasfitters off gas, Balam Balam a special new community project in Meribek, their latest hotel project Melbourne Place and some exciting future projects. It will be fun to help them unpack some of their story about their past and where they are going, and to hear their opinions on architecture’s role in the transition ahead. Plus Pat and Rachael are always great fun for a laugh. Date: Thursday, February 6th, 2025 Location: Sanders Place, 11 - 15 Albert Street, Richmond 3121 Time: 5:30PM arrival for a 6PM start Secure your spot! *Ticket fee will go directly to light refreshments hosted after the session. Set Times for tomorrow's launch party: Exclusive B2B Set: Seratony b2b Mick Mills - all night long (5:30-8:30) In a rare and exclusive performance, the visionary directors behind Finding Infinity and Off the Grid Festival unite for their first back-to-back set, possibly ever. As leaders of one of Australia's most innovative sustainability consultancies by day, these two pioneers have consistently pushed the boundaries of sustainability in unexpected ways. Their legendary Off The Grid parties began as a battery powered house party in London, before taking over the ACCA forecourt with a soundsytem and kitchen, fully powered by the sun. Having spent years transforming Australia's approach to sustainability through Finding Infinity, these two bring a unique perspective to the decks that few other artists can match. Their sound effortlessly blends uplifting WUBS with organic WIKKI WIKKI's – a musical reflection of their mission to reshape our relationship with the environment. Don't miss this exclusive set – there will be no sideshows. About Finding Infinity: Finding Infinity are amazing. They actually have a vision for what Australia's cities need to do to become energy self sufficient and they've got economic modelling to show how this transformation will save us money. Sanders Place is part of that blueprint, demonstrating what can be done with reuse and retrofit. They'll be at the decks all night if you want to go and have a chat! Ross Harding :)

Congrats to NMBW Architecture Studio, Finding Infinity, Openwork Pty Ltd and Never Stop Group 👏🙌 What a huge result Sanders Place! 🏆 "Sanders Place is an exciting project – equally for its deft design intelligence and its heralding of a shift towards a “do less, reuse more” philosophy in retrofit commercial buildings. As an exemplar of what’s possible when an architect, landscape architect and ESD consultant work as equal collaborators with an enlightened client, the project respects existing built fabric but is not afraid to boldly intervene." https://lnkd.in/gH3sK2Rz
