PEOPLE | Recently celebrating 25 years at Schiavello, Leo Adamo started as an installer with our VIC Furniture business back in 1999. Five years on, he was invited to assist in the office with ordering, as well as running projects under the guidance of others whilst a Site Manager was on leave. Three years on and Leo officially gave up the tools and took up a role as a Site Supervisor in 2007. He’s now employed as a Site Manager for the VIC team, having looked after several large-scale projects including Telstra, ATO, IAG, Infosys, The Victorian Heart Hospital and Bunnings.   John Romano joined Schiavello more than three decades ago, starting as a Product Designer & Development Engineer in our R&D division. From there, he worked across multiple manufacturing divisions, before moving into sales support and training for the global business. Landing back in Melbourne, John became National Key Account Manager in 2010, where he applies his extensive product design experience to provide tailored solutions to numerous Australian Government clients. PROJECT WIN | Over the next 6 months, our Construction team will be working with long term partner Mirvac to refurbish Riverside Quay, Southbank. Working with project partners 3-point Australia, Concept Black Architects and Aston Consulting to deliver this 6000m2 project, it includes major mechanical upgrades, as well as a return to warm shell and finished spec suites. PEOPLE | As a family run business, it means a great deal to see long-standing team members mark such significant milestones with us. Each of these four dedicated team members have recently marked 35 years with Schiavello – a feat they should be extremely proud of.   Vinh Dinh started his time at Schiavello within our seating business as an upholsterer. Fittingly, he has worked on over 35 different product ranges throughout his tenure, consisting of over 300 models.   Arthur Borg has been a solid contributor in his leadership role in our Paint Shop. His strengths lie in transferring his skillset through teaching and mentoring apprentices and other team members, and is also a reliable leader during projects with short lead times.   Julie Smyth started with our wood Furniture division in late 1989, cleaning components coming off the machines within production. Soon after, she was offered a permanent admin role before training as a Quality Auditor. A self-titled ‘Jill-of-all-trades’, Julie’s depth of experience sees her looking after an array of admin and general tasks including purchasing of material, machine tooling, physical stock counts and data entry.   The go-to man in folding intricate shapes in sheet metal, Van Truong Nguyen is especially skilled in the Brake Press area of our metal manufacturing division. His knowledge in this area is second to none, with a deep understanding of how to complete a folded part with our various machines and tooling.
