Helping young people in crisis.

About us

Sir David Martin Foundation is a Family Foundation, helping young people in crisis. As the major philanthropic partner of Mission Australia, we’ve raised over $65M since 1990. This partnership has enabled a best practice model of treatment for young people with drug and alcohol addiction. The Foundation is the major funder of Mission Australia’s Triple Care Farm, a unique, holistic treatment centre which each year gives over 200 vulnerable young Australians, aged 16-24, a safe place to get well and prepare for new opportunities. Our vision is to give safety, hope and opportunity to all vulnerable young Australians. Through philanthropy, we help young people in crisis by enabling best practice models of treatment for youth drug and alcohol addiction

  • What an incredible night! The Royal Motor Yacht Club and Royal Australian Navy combined their efforts to support young people in crisis, raising over $50,000!💚 Members of the RMYC had the rare experience of boarding HMAS Hobart for a charity auction dedicated raising funds young people experiencing addiction. Harry Waterworth, a member of our Youth Advisory Group, joined and spoke about why he is so passionate about helping other young people when they need it most. We were inspired and moved by the passion and generosity of everyone who attended. Thank you so much to everyone who worked to make the night such a resounding success 🚢💫

  • There are many vulnerable young people like Bailey who need support as they recover from addiction, even after leaving rehab. When a young person has an Aftercare Worker by their side, they are given the best chance for success – to stay free from harmful substance use and build a brighter future. Our regular giving program, Team180, makes this possible. As a powerful collective of compassionate people, Team180 gives young people access to Aftercare so they can receive the vital support during the 180 days after rehab. 💪 Join Team180 today: https://lnkd.in/gr3rxQUD #YouthAddiction #Aftercare #Addiction #Recovery

  • Sir David Martin Foundation is proud to join Uniting's Fair Treatment campaign, uniting with over 70 organisations to advocate for a more compassionate and evidence-based approach to drug policy in Australia. As a foundation dedicated to helping young people experiencing drug and alcohol addiction, we recognise the urgent need for reform. By joining this coalition, we're advocating for: 1. Law reform for a primary health-response to personal possession of currently illicit drugs or “decriminalisation” and; 2. More funding for alcohol and other drug treatment services. These changes have the potential to significantly reduce harm and expand access to life-saving treatment for vulnerable youth. 👉Read more about our commitment to this crucial initiative on our blog: https://lnkd.in/gZqNU448 #FairTreatment #YouthAddiction #DrugPolicyReform

  • Recovery is a complicated journey for young people to navigate. When Bailey had completed rehab, re-entering the community was daunting. Having just escaped the devastating cycle of addiction, he didn’t know where to start. Thanks to the compassionate people of Team180, Bailey could receive tailored, holistic care even after rehab. Support from Todd, Bailey’s Aftercare Worker, was crucial for Bailey to navigate life after rehab and stay well. 💪 Be a part of Team180 today: https://lnkd.in/gr3rxQUD YouthAddiction #Aftercare #Addiction #Recovery

Social Impact Leader, Charity Executive, Executive Coach, Advocate for Youth in Crisis

After almost six years, I will finish as CEO of Sir David Martin Foundation today to study abroad. I will miss this lovely family foundation and the wonderful work they do to help young people in crisis. It's been a really rewarding journey watching the great outcomes from David Martin Place (the only youth withdrawal centre in NSW), expanding our reach nationally with Aftercare, establishing our youth advisory group and restructuring the governance and operations of the business. But mostly I'll miss the wonderful people. I've been so lucky to have worked with such great people (you know who you are) and although I'll be on a new life adventure I'm so grateful to have had you in my life. I'll be following the Foundation from afar and will be back in Sydney at the end of 2025.
