Earlier this month we officially opened the doors to the first ST. ALi in the Philippines, another step towards our mission of taking Melbourne coffee culture around the globe. Situated in the heart of Manila, the new store is serving our signature brews and dishes alongside a few new additions inspired by local ingredients and flavours. As part of a greater effort to source more coffees from our region, we have also released our very first coffees from the Philippines. There are some amazing things happening within coffee in Asia, and these coffees demonstrate just that! The special releases are now available in-store at our cafes or online for our coffee drinkers in Melbourne. A big thanks to everyone who helped make this happen and to everyone who's already swung by for a coffee. This is just the first chapter for us in Manila- stay tuned!

About us
When it comes to specialty coffee ST. ALi was one of the first, one of the pioneers; the ones who defined specialty coffee in Melbourne; and the ones who continue to push boundaries forward. Found down a back alley you have to know where to go to get to, since inception ST. ALi has been an industry leader in direct relationships with farmers, in-house roasting, expert coffee brewing, with a best-in-category food offering. We’re a stand-alone brand, unique, focused—and hard to replicate. While our spiritual home will forever be our laneway roots in South Melbourne, we also own and run the Sensory Lab brand of stores in the CBD and now at Melbourne International Airport. We’ve partnered with Mercedes-Benz to open their Australia first 'Mercedes Me' concept store in Collins Street, and in 2015 expanded into the international market, opening a sister ST. ALi in Jakarta. As the innovative leader of ST. ALi, disruptive entrepreneur Salvatore Malatesta has established a fresh and visionary focus on branding, accessible customer education, and a world-class coffee offering that is relevant, sincere—and always a little rock and roll.

This year marked our third as official sponsors of the Nike Melbourne Marathon Festival. A huge amount of work goes into this event but it's so worth it when you get to hand over the post-race coffee. A big congrats to everyone who left it out there on the roads, see you next year!

THANK YOU TAIPEI! We had the most incredible 10 days sharing a taste of Melbourne coffee culture in Taipei. A huge thanks to 詠鑠生活 YSLC and TOK for helping us make this happen and to everyone who came down- we couldn't have asked for a warmer welcome. We have a few more exciting overseas projects in the works this year but we're always open to new ideas, so if you're keen to partner on something we'd love to hear from you. Feels Good to be spreading the ST. ALi magic worldwide.

Seasonal releases ain't a new thing for a coffee brand, but we wanted to draw inspiration from more than just the season's flavours and weave in our love for music, art and design. Introducing Ceremony, the first of our seasonal blend range and an ode to Autumn. The creative concept was inspired by renaissance paintings, the favourite office synth playlist (we’ll leave you to figure it out) and the final sights and smells of Summer. Amazing work Izak Stevens and Tayt Bale. Expect flavours that remind you of warm, cosy favourites like Apple Crumble and Sticky Date Pudding thanks to Lucy Ward. Available online now and at select ST. ALi stockists.

ST. ALi presents: iN THE MiX Last week we hosted an event for our customers with a focus on mixing- drinks, tracks and circles. We kicked off with a drinks masterclass with World Bartender Champion Orlando Marzo and head barista Alex Wang. After that we kicked back with DJ Amin Payne and an epic spread by Rocco’s Deli. Shoutout to our sponsors La Marzocco, Almighty, Corowa Distilling Co., and thanks to everyone who came along- it was great to see you all in the mix. Stay tuned for more events like this around Australia and let us know where you'd like to see us next.

This week we officially opened the doors to ST. ALi Bali. Our mission has always been to take Melbourne coffee culture to the world (and sneak a surf in if we can) so naturally Bali has been top of our list for a while. Situated in the heart of Pererenan in the new Further Hotel we couldn’t have asked for a better community to be welcomed into. Next time you’re in Bali make sure you stop by, we have the legendary daniel dobra back in the kitchen and of course the ST. ALi signature brews you know and love. A huge thanks to our partners Common Grounds Coffee Roastery and Further Hotel for making this possible, we couldn’t have done it without you.

Towards the end of last year we opened the doors to our 8th site in Australia. Located in Morningside, Brisbane, it’s much like our other venues- a hidden gem with plenty of character. A cafe, a roastery and a training space- it Feels Good to have our own home in Queensland. Huge ups to our small but mighty team on the ground who pulled this all together- Dan, Sam & Ash.

Last week the team touched down in Tassie with suitcases full of coffee and a jam-packed itinerary. We kicked things off in classic ST. ALi style with a coffee tasting (and party) at Valley Coffee. Lucy Ward took everyone through some exciting singles, and the good times continued with pizza and ping pong. Nothing got in the way of the team getting up early the next morning though, and we had an awesome day in Hobart visiting some local gems. If you’d like to see ST. ALi at your favourite spot in Tassie let us know! Lucy Ward Connor Adams Emily Oak
