In celebration of International Coffee Day on October 1st, La Marzocco Australia hosted the Sydney premiere of The Rise of Espresso at Palace Cinemas for the ST.ALi Italian Film Festival. Directed by Enrico Ventrice and produced by our Florence-based cultural hub, #AccademiadelCaffeEspresso, 'The Rise of Espresso' celebrates the rich history and global expansion of the coffee industry from the perspective of Italian immigrants.  International Coffee Day is an iconic date for the coffee industry. Dedicated to celebrating the quality work and passion of the people who allow espresso coffee to be appreciated all over the world, it was fitting to come together with our friends and partners on this day for a special screening of 'The Rise of Espresso'. Many thanks to those who joined us in Melbourne and Sydney over the last week for the global launch of the 'Rise of Espresso'. A special thank you also is in order for our Melbourne guest speakers (Lachlan Ward and Elizabeth Triarico) and Sydney guest speakers (Emily Oak and Sam Bufalino), who enlightened us in a post-screening Q+A, reflecting upon and discussing and the unique history and rise of Australia’s mighty espresso scene. We are excited to share that we are making our silver screen debut at the 2024 ST.ALi Italian Film Festival with 'The Rise of Espresso'. Directed by Enrico Ventrice and promoted by #accademiadelcaffeespresso 'The Rise of Espresso' is a documentary which explores rapid and widespread appreciation for espresso. Hosted in Australia for its global premiere, the feature celebrates the personal stories of Italian immigrants who rebuilt their lives from scratch, whilst simultaneously writing a new chapter in history. A common perspective within Australia's cultural tapestry, especially within hospitality, we are thrilled to be hosting the global premiere in Melbourne and Sydney. Whilst our Melbourne session has sold out due to popular demand, tickets still remain for our Sydney screening on 1st October. Each session will include espresso martinis on arrival and will be followed by a post-screening Q&A with the following thought leaders as they discuss the rise of espresso culture in Australia.
