Beats of Bharatanatyam, Kathak and Ghoomar reverberate in NSW Parliament at #Diwali celebrations hosted by Consulate General of India, Sydney, Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre, and NSW Parliamentary Friends of India in Speaker's Garden. The mesmerising performances by Indian-origin Aussie artists amidst chants of "Ganapataye Namaha", "Jai Ram Ram" and "Hanumanta" symbolised the deep cultural connect between Australia and India. Co- Chair of NSW Parliamentary Friends of India, Warren Kirby said at the occasion that India was emerging as a superpower in all dimensions and that Australia's future was linked with India's. On a lighter note, Deputy Leader of NSW Nationals and Co-Chair of NSW Parliamentary Friends of India, Gurmesh Singh mentioned that every electorate of NSW now has an Indian restaurant highlighting the role of the Indian diaspora in Australia.
