Gold Coast Boaties' Cyclone Bunker ⚓🌪️ Over the past 2 weeks, The Boat Works crew and onsite marine tenants sprang into action, rolling out their extreme weather plan to protect vessels, secure the yards, and support boat owners throughout Cyclone Alfred's visit. A total of 400 boats were safeguarded—275 hauled out into sheds and hardstands, and 125 secured in the water, including liveaboard cruisers. Thanks to the entire team's swift response, no damage was sustained, and operations were back in full swing by Monday, March 10. From extra tie-downs reinforced with 1-ton concrete blocks to rigging and mast inspections by the professional shipwrights from GC Riggers & Shipwrights through to last minute haul outs to bunker down within the all-weather sheds, every precaution was taken to ensure the safety of boats and their owners along with our crew and onsite marine partners.
