In 2022, we watched with hope as Australia elected a new government. Would this finally be the turning point for real climate action? Three years on, that hope has faded into disappointment. It’s clear that neither major party is willing to do what’s necessary. So how do we secure a better outcome for the planet in this election? Join us for a special screening of No Safe Seat, a short documentary about the rise of teal independents in 2022—candidates who defied the two-party system and won on a platform of integrity, gender equity and climate action. After the film, we’ll dive into our local candidates and discuss how you can vote for strong climate action in the upcoming election. 📽️ No Safe Seat 📅 Sunday 30 March ⏰ 3:00 PM – 4:30 PM 📍 Landcare and Sustainable Living Centre, Booragul 🎟️ Tickets: $10 per person Bookings here - https://lnkd.in/g4Tk84nu Don’t miss this opportunity to be part of the movement for change. #VoteClimate #NoSafeSeat #ClimateAction #Climate200 #FederalElection2025

What a privilege it’s been working with ReHabitat to trial their new #ReHabitatPlantPods - a fully biodegradable product that provides habitat to grounddwellers and improves soil health as they breakdown - talk about a win, win! Our field obversations demonstrate they are far more stable - less likely to collapse in on the plant like classic cardboard milk bottle alternatives or blow away and become an environmental issue, as is the case with corflute alternative. We’ve had #ReHabitatPlantPods in place for over 4 months now and they are still going strong. 💪🏻
Big news!! Our newest product, the ReHabitat Plant Pod is here! After months of development and #design, and field trials on the Macquarie University campus and in collaboration with The Groundswell Collective, we are ready to show you all what we've been working on! Delegates at the The Ecological Society of Australia conference in December would have seen these at our trade stand... spoiler alert! The #ReHabitatPlantPod is the next generation of our #ReHabitatPod - both are biodegradable cardboard habitat units designed to support small-to-medium ground-dwelling wildlife where their #habitat has been disturbed. The original #ReHabitatPod (#Winner of the Hatch: Taronga Accelerator Program 2023 Grand Prize and People's Choice Awards) was designed for use after bushfires as emergency shelter for #wildlife. #ReHabitatPods are currently being deployed by VIC DEECA to support #potoroos and other wildlife impacted by the #Grampians and #Otways bushfires. This new habitat unit combines the same #biodegradable #cardboard design, with holes that have been designed to maximise through-flow of light, air, and wildlife! It also incorporates the same recognisable #pyramid shape and internal structures that provide enough strength to ensure they last at least 12 months (and can support an adult man standing on them!). The large stiff triangular opening for the plant ensures that the guards won't collapse closed and restrict seedling growth, as can often happen with the plastic and flimsy biodegradable alternatives. These #wildlifefriendly #treeguards provide #habitat for small critters from day one of any revegetation project - unlike the plastic or even other biodegradable alternatives. Our founder is a PhD-certified wildlife #ecologist who has spent her career finding new ways to translate her knowledge and expertise into useful innovative tools to benefit Australian native animals. Our products undergo rigorous scientific testing so you know we can back up our claims. Our products are designed, tested, and #madeinAustralia. Interested? Planted in September 2024 with the Tocal College community, this tiny forest is powering along 🥰
Just over three months in, and this tiny forest on Wonnarua Country (NSW) is thriving. Over 1,050 seedlings planted using the Miyawaki method back in September, many of which are already surpassing the 1m mark! Huge thanks to our dedicated planting partner, The Groundswell Collective, for their hard work in bringing this tiny forest to life.
