Working together for sustainable packaging

About us

The Packaging Forum brings together over 200 companies which belong to one or more of our voluntary product stewardship schemes. Each scheme is independently managed and is funded by levies. We invest over $1 million annually in projects to increase soft plastic recycling, packaging recycling, glass recycling and reduce litter in communities around the country. Alongside our members we work hard to be the credible end of life packaging partner, giving priority to advocacy for member’s product stewardship packaging solutions so that all packaging can be recyclable or compostable in NZ by 2025 We’re growing at a rate of around 2-3 new members every month because brands want to be part of stewardship programmes that deliver results and are prepared to pay for them. Packaging is there to protect and preserve products and extend shelf life. Our focus is to deliver comprehensive stewardship solutions in partnership with local and central government and communities with the objective that there is no packaging waste going to landfill.
