We are the fundraising arm of The Royal Children's Hospital, supporting them to deliver the best care for sick kids

About us

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care to Victoria’s children and their families for over 150 years. The RCH Foundation is the fundraising arm of the hospital. We raise, manage and distribute money to enable the RCH to provide the best care to patients and their families. You can create a brighter future for sick children. Your donations support the RCH and its campus partners, The Murdoch Children’s Research Institute (MCRI) and The University of Melbourne Department of Paediatrics, to push the boundaries of paediatric healthcare. While the Victorian Government funds the hospital’s standard operating costs, your donations support medical excellence. The programs and initiatives funded by donated money create outcomes that are above and beyond the hospital’s normal day-to-day activities. They take the RCH from a good hospital to a great hospital and what’s more – they wouldn’t exist without the generous support of people like you. To find out more about the programs and initiatives funded through philanthropy, and the life changing impact they have on patients and their families, please visit rchfoundation.org.au

  • This World Mental Health Day, we celebrate Ava's inspiring journey at The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH)!✨ Ava was a vibrant dancer and basketball player, but multiple daily seizures left her struggling with her mental and physical health. After many months of uncertainty, she was finally diagnosed with epilepsy when she was nine, and received a treatment plan that provided some relief. Still, she faced a tough road ahead. With the support of Dr. Georgina Cox, a psychologist at RCH, Ava tackled the stress and trauma from her medical experiences using EMDR and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. This holistic approach is part of the Melbourne’s Children Campus Mental Health Strategy, which aims to deliver integrated, high-quality mental health care for young people facing complex health challenges. Today, almost 10 years later, Ava is thriving! She’s passionate about raising awareness for epilepsy and hopes to pursue a nursing career at the RCH, helping other children navigate similar challenges. Swipe to see her standing outside Parliament House, where she was invited to speak about epilepsy. The Melbourne’s Children Campus Mental Health Strategy is made possible thanks to philanthropic support.

  • Did you know that much of the equipment used in Neonatal Intensive Care Units is actually donated? As Gary Trenaman, Chief Executive Officer of Running for Premature Babies, explained, “While we have an excellent healthcare system, philanthropy ensures that hospitals can have the most advanced neonatal equipment.” That’s why donations are so crucial. Recently, Running for Premature Babies made a generous gift of $50,000 to support PIPER, the RCH's very own NICU on wheels. PIPER is a statewide service team that transfers sick babies, sick children and high-risk pregnant people from hospitals across Victoria. It has been instrumental in saving lives and ensuring that sick babies receive the care they desperately need. Thank you, Running for Premature Babies, for your incredible support! 🏃♀️👶❤️ Learn more about Running for Premature Babies and how to get involved: https://lnkd.in/gxiyA6S4 Pictured below: Gary Trenaman on a behind the scenes tour with the RCH Foundation and PIPER team.

  • Today, our Chief Executive Officer, Ryan Brown; Director, Fundraising, Laura Buck, and Fundraising Coordinator, Georgia Gribble had the privilege of visiting Carlie Ryan and the team at the Bendigo Health Fundraising & Foundation to learn about the important work being undertaken in the Bendigo region.   Throughout the day, they saw how innovative technologies and robotics were being used in the hospital pharmacy and toured the Gobbé Wellness Centre, home of Bendigo Health’s Cancer Wellness Program.   They also learned about the impact of the Good Friday Appeal’s regional funding on young people in Bendigo, and visited a future site for kids' rehabilitation that was made possible by this year's Appeal. This exciting new funding program launched earlier this year is bringing The Royal Children's Hospital’s excellence to regional areas, helping kids receive care closer to home and enhancing paediatric health services across the state.   A huge thank you to the Bendigo Health Foundation team for a wonderful day!
