This past week, we've made it a priority to check in with each other and ask, 'Are you okay?' At TLEA, we strive to be a workforce that values psychosocial health just as much as physical health. That's why today and every day, remember to ask your mates – 'Are you okay?' #RUOKDAY2024 #DoingGreatThings #LithiumForTheFuture
About us
Tianqi Lithium Energy Australia (TLEA) is pioneering a new industry in Western Australia and paving the way for Australians to play a greater role in the decarbonisation of the world’s economy. Our fully automated Kwinana Lithium Hydroxide Refinery is the first of its kind in Australia and one of the biggest and most advanced lithium processing plants in the world. In building the Kwinana Refinery, we have brought downstream processing of lithium to Australia. In doing so we are adding value to Australia’s minerals, providing opportunities for Australians to develop new skills in an industry at the forefront of the decarbonisation of the world’s economy, and we are leading the way for Australia to play an even larger role in the battery supply chain. The first of our production trains at Kwinana was completed in 2022. A second train is already partially constructed, and there are plans in the pipeline for trains 3 and 4, each with a production capacity of 24,000 tonnes of lithium hydroxide per year - all produced using spodumene mined and concentrated in Western Australia. The lithium hydroxide products from these plans will be exported to Europe and Asia.

Thanks to the Department of Fire and Emergency Services and the Kwinana Industries Council for organising Friday's Desktop Emergency Exercise and the opportunity to test our emergency preparedness and response capabilities. 🚨 #DoingGreatThings #LithiumForTheFuture
Keeping the community safe is an important part of what Kwinana Industries Council does. Around 100 industry, emergency services, local government and community leaders this week took part in a major Desktop Emergency Exercise jointly run by KIC and the Department of Fire and Emergency Services. Faced with a simulated critical incident, members from across the #KwinanaIndustrialArea worked in teams to manage the emergency response to ensure workers and the community were kept safe, and that industry could resume operations promptly. We extend our sincere thanks to the team at DFES and other emergency services for their support and involvement. #KICindustry #kwinanaindustry #emergencyresponse

We 💙 Site Tours! We had the pleasure of hosting a group of engineering students at our plant for a site tour. As they work towards their Certificate III in Process Plant Operations, it was a fantastic chance to bridge the gap between education and industry! Equipped with dust masks, mono-goggles, and all the safety gear, we made sure our guests were safe while touring the site. 🛠 South Metropolitan TAFE #DoingGreatThings #LithiumForTheFuture
