Abacus Group awarded TOTAL the contract for the Design and Construction of a state of the art 4 level Storage King Group Self Storage facility in Morayfield, Queensland. We’re pleased to share the latest progress. Our delivery team has been making impressive strides, with the final deck pour and structural steel installation now complete. Roofing and guttering will be wrapped up by the end of this week, and scaffolding, along with the tower crane, is scheduled for demobilisation next week. Thanks to favourable weather and the outstanding performance of our sub-contractors, we are currently tracking ahead of schedule. The next update will showcase the completion of the project, but for now, take a look at the images of the build’s progress so far. It was all celebrations last Friday night, as TOTAL Queensland came away with the prestigious Master Builders Queensland Award in the category of Commercial/Industrial Building ($15-30m Brisbane) for our impressive StoreLocal Berrinba Self Storage project. Our first of many collaborations with StoreLocal, this four-story, cutting-edge facility offers an array of services including co-working spaces, interactive customer service kiosk and spacious storage units suitable for larger equipment. Our dedicated team collaborated with StoreLocal throughout the design and construction to optimise the net lettable space area, increasing storage unit capacity without compromising functionality or aesthetics. Congratulations to StoreLocal, our project team lead by Jeremy Mckenzie and Steve OConnor, and all the consultants and subcontractors on delivering this award winning project. We're delighted to share the completion of the Storage King Woolloongabba facility in Brisbane. This transformation from a former motor vehicle dealership into a state-of-the-art self-storage facility has been remarkable. Re-purposing existing structures and constructing new buildings, the facility spans over 5525m² across two buildings, boasting over 400 storage units of varying sizes, making it an ideal choice for both residential and business storage needs near Buranda and East Brisbane. Essential infrastructure and key features of the build include: -Construction of driveways and loading bays -Easy access to units -Modern passenger and goods lifts -Landscaping enhancements to improve the streetscape -Eye-catching façade, illuminated signage with Storage King's branding elements Our team expertly navigated multiple in-ground latent conditions, including complex underpinning works for an 11m high fire wall between buildings. Through collaborative design engineering, we were able to reduce costs and source secured steel from overseas, ensuring the project met both time and budget requirements.
