GENERAL MANAGER OPERATIONS - AUCKLAND Come and join one of Auckland's iconic tourism businesses who have been providing amazing marine based experiences for 25 years. This senior leadership role is based in Auckland overseeing the day to day running of Explore Group’s suite of marine based cruises and tours. Explore Group offers a range of marine based excursions in Auckland, the Bay of Islands, and the Whitsundays, starting with one America’s Cup yacht in Auckland New Zealand in 1999, and have expanded to be a multi-region and multi-product operation. The key objective of the role is to manage the daily operations of our tourism products and services in Auckland with 3 direct reports and a team of up to 45 over the summer. Proven experience in management across operations, staff management, HR, recruitment and administration are required. The successful candidate will have exceptional verbal and written communication, an ability to motivate and lead teams, and be able to manage simultaneously multiple products and projects. Whilst finance, sales and marketing is handed centrally, strong understanding and knowledge of these disciplines is also required. Experience in the marine tourism sector would be an advantage but not a requirement. We are seeking people who already have the right to work full time in New Zealand. Launching in Hamilton Island in 2013 and Airlie Beach in 2018, Explore offer experiences ranging from sailing to diving to dining. Key Objective To manage the daily operation of Explore Hamilton Island. Operate all vessels safely and efficiently and administer all necessary day to day activities as agreed while maintaining a positive attitude that promotes a culture of focus and team work in a manner that will deliver exceptional experiences and enhance Explore’s overall reputation. Proven experience in management across operations, staff management, HR, recruitment and administration are required and the ability to lead and operate in a remote location is a must.
