A big thank you to everyone who attended our recent CFO Series event in #Melbourne, featuring two of Australia’s top financial leaders: Farhan Faruqui, Chief Financial Officer, ANZ, and Vandita Pant, Chief Financial Officer, BHP. The discussion centered around the evolving role of the CFO—shifting from financial oversight to becoming key drivers of innovation, digital transformation, and strategic leadership in a rapidly changing business landscape. Key insights included the growing convergence between finance and technology, and the critical role CFOs play in fostering talent and navigating global economic challenges. A special thank-you to Simone L Tilley I GAICD I CEW our amazing moderator, and Jo Billing who wonderfully summarised the discussion. 🎉 We’d also like to extend a huge thanks to our partner Christopher Smith MD, Wipro and our supporting partner IBM for making the event a success. Special shoutout to Mabu Mabu, an Indigenous-owned, women-led, and LGBTQIA+ business, for providing the fantastic catering and creating a warm, inclusive atmosphere at Wipro's offices. It was truly an occasion to remember. A major takeaway from the event: Digital transformation is key to achieving business goals, and the collaboration between finance and technology teams will only strengthen moving forward. #CFOLeadership #DigitalTransformation #FinanceAndTech #Innovation #BusinessStrategy #ANZBank #BHP #emergingleaders Trans - Tasman Business Circle Johnny Weiss Noa Oziel Tanya Oziel Sharron Lloyd Cerise Devaux Maddison Holland

  • 👏 Proud to have hosted another impactful session in our 2024 Corporate Affairs Leadership Briefing Series! Last week’s discussion on Resilient Leadership: Equipping Corporate Affairs Leaders for Sustainability during Economic Downturns was a powerful reminder of the critical role corporate affairs plays in addressing strategic risk, navigating the challenges of cybersecurity, AI, regulation, and driving ethical leadership.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the 2024 Corporate Affairs Leadership Briefing Series last week in #Melbourne! We had a fantastic discussion on the evolving role of corporate affairs in navigating strategic risk, including the challenges of #cybersecurity, #AI, #governance, #regulation, and #ESG expectations. The insights shared by our panelists—Sarah Clarke (Mirvac), Byron Rienstra (BPartners), and Michael Shearer OBE—on balancing cost-cutting measures, stakeholder scrutiny, and maintaining ethical leadership were invaluable. A special thank you to our moderator, Anna Whitlam, for guiding the conversation and to everyone in the audience for your engaging questions. We also loved hearing from our host Roger Sharp (Bupa) on bringing back the love in leadership, reminding us all about the importance of trust and authentic connections during challenging times. We look forward to continuing these important conversations and equipping corporate affairs leaders with the tools needed for resilience and sustainability in today’s fast-changing environment. • As the use of third parties to deliver critical business rises, so does your cyber risk. 29% of all breaches are due to third party attacks, with the breaches commonly harder to prevent and detect on time, given the interconnectivity of modern businesses with their vendors. The Trans – Tasman Business Circle and our Partner Skylight Cyber Security invite you to join our panel of speakers to explore practical steps on how to mitigate these rising risks for businesses and vendors on Tuesday 25th June in Sydney. Founder, V-Engage | Immersive & Emerging Technology Advisory - Extended Reality (Virtual Reality/ AR/ MR), Metaverse, AI & Robotics for connecting, communications and learning.

I am inspired, thankful and excited about the future of #financialservices, #womenintech and #inclusivity. So blessed for the opportunity to share my experiences and Immersive tech journey with the amazing Women Leaders by the Circle delegates as part of the impactful “Thrive: The Women’s Leadership Series" by the Trans - Tasman Business Circle. It happens to be the 4th year anniversary since I founded my own company, V-Engage. A special thank you to everyone who joined our roundtable lunch yesterday and sharing your inspiring stories too. I am so excited to have met a pioneering group of women leaders whom I am looking forward to connecting with and continuing our conversations! Please reach out anytime. Condensing 8 years into a 15-min presentation made it a great opportunity to reflect on how fast this space has advanced throughout the years from bringing virtual Alexander Hamilton to the Singapore Innovation Centre and the BNY Mellon AR/VR Experience app to VR engagement experiences and virtual communities like Meiava World by V-Engage today! I am deeply grateful to a true champion of empowerment of female leaders Tanya Oziel for hosting me, founder of V-Engage, along with my partners at Meta's Reality Labs team at the session yesterday. Most importantly for her encouragement and advocacy of Women in Tech (and much, much more) - an experience I will never forget and will pass on to others with and after me. Tanya, thank you, for showing me/us the true meaning of 'setting others up for success'. While I am already at the second stage of my career, I am still a rookie when it comes to my entrepreneurial journey. I can't thank you enough Vanessa Liell (Co-Founder of Orizontas) who led me to Tanya and the future-forward change-making Trans - Tasman Business Circle team. Since the first post lockdown coffee chat with Vanessa, my returnee life has flourished because of her continuous support and connections. Vanessa is the growth mindset in human form and her modesty despite her multitude of entrepreneurial achievements truly inspires earlier stage entrepreneurs like me. Thanks to Anna Whitlam for connecting us back then. I also felt humbled to have had the support and attendance of Mimi Lee, founder of Meiava, and an Advisor of V-Engage. Greatly appreciative of your continuous guidance, friendship-mentorship, calmness and support throughout and thank you Anna Tehan for connecting us. Thank you to Claire Weekes and Rehan Wickremeratne from the Meta Reality Labs team for sharing the latest and hosting us at your Barrangaroo office over catered lunch alongside the MXC XR demos. A gigantic shout out to the broader Trans - Tasman Business Circle team especially everyone who made yesterday's event a success Maddison Holland, Luke Henderson and Tanya Jovanovic. Missed you Tracy Jennings, Cerise Devaux. Check out the Business Circle events and initiatives including study tours at: https://lnkd.in/gU-uc6_6 #thinkingdifferently
