“Australia’s commercial real estate market is primed and ready to transition. Industry Lanes is a prime example of how the property industry can make real progress with its decarbonisation strategies, and we look forward to our continued relationship to support Salta’s sustainability-led projects in the future,” said NAB Group Executive for Corporate and Institutional Banking, Cathryn Carver. Leading property development and asset management group Salta has secured the first NAB Green Finance for Commercial Real Estate (CRE) loan for a building in Victoria. The building, a mixed-use office and retail project called Industry Lanes in the inner-Melbourne suburb of Richmond, qualified for the loan because of its low emissions. NAB’s new payment platform, Portal Pay, reduces the complexities and administration burden traditionally associated with property sales and rental transactions. Backed by Australia’s largest business bank, NAB Portal Pay integrates with existing major real estate software to make it easier to transfer, track and reconcile rent and sale deposit payments. The new platform allows renters to set and forget their rent payments and transforms and provides an innovative payment solution for receiving deposits from private sales and on auction day. NAB Executive for Business Metro and Specialised, Julie Rynski, said NAB Portal Pay was another example of NAB delivering easy to use payment solutions for SMEs. “Real estate agents, buyers and renters can expect a much more simplified user experience combined with state-of-the-art security features to facilitate fast, safe transacting,” Ms Rynski said. Perth banker Bronte Chatfield spotted the red flags of a remote access scam as it was happening in real time. Bronte prevented a criminal from swindling $2,600 from an elderly customer. The customer had called NAB but the scammer didn’t bank on being overheard by Bronte while he was coaching the customer. At that moment, Bronte swung into action to put further blocks on the customer’s account, saving his funds. For every story like this we know there are many more Australians who are falling victim to scams which is why it's crucial to recognise the red flags of scams. Curiosity is critical to being a successful data and AI 'expert' at NAB. Here’s a look at a day in the life of NAB’s Head of Customer Decisioning, Lisa Marchant. ⏰My alarm goes off... At 5.34am. Yes, it’s a weird time, but I don’t like the sound of getting up at 5:30am, those extra four minutes make all the difference. I’m busily making school lunches and wrangling my two primary school aged kids in the morning. 💼I am responsible for... Leading the team that helps to design and build NAB’s 'Customer Brain'. 🧠The ‘Customer Brain’ is... To put it very simply, Customer Brain is technology that helps us remember when it’s your birthday, reminds you to make a deposit in your savings account so you don’t miss out on bonus interest, and nudges us to update you on the progress of your transaction dispute. This program invites applications from technology companies worldwide to address three primary challenge statements, culminating in nine finalists presenting at the virtual grand finale in October 2024. More Australians with a home loan are using an offset account to help them manage their money. Using an offset account may be helpful in reducing the amount of interest paid on your home loan while providing ready and flexible access to the money in that account when you need it. Since 2020, NAB has seen a 55% increase in total offset balances and more customers opting to take out an offset account with their home loan. NAB Home Ownership executive Andy Kerr spoke with The Age and the Sydney Morning Herald to explain how customers are using and growing their offset account balances and just how engaged Australians are becoming with their finances as they seek even smarter ways to manage their money. https://lnkd.in/g6V5f8wR
