For the first time ever, NSW, SA, and VIC are now connected by the nation’s largest transmission project, EnergyConnect. This milestone allows renewable energy to flow freely between three states, delivering cleaner, cheaper, and more reliable power for all Australians. Here’s what this milestone means for our consumers: ✅ A stronger, more secure grid: EnergyConnect improves supply reliability and system stability across the National Electricity Market. ✅ A greener future: A significant step in Australia’s clean energy transition. 🤝 We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the landowners and local communities along the western alignment who partnered with us to make this nation-critical project a reality. 💡 What’s next? With over 1,000 individuals currently working on the next phase—the eastern section connecting Buronga to Wagga Wagga—we are making significant progress towards a more sustainable energy future for Australia. 🔗 For more information, visit: https://brnw.ch/21wQwRh #renewables #RenewableEnergy #futuregrid #energytransition Brett Redman Gordon Taylor Robert LI Michael Johnson

People. Power. Possibilities. Leading the transition to a clean energy future.
About us
We’ve ensured the smooth operation of over 13,085 km of high-voltage transmission lines and 128 substations and switching stations across NSW and the ACT, with interconnections to QLD and VIC. Our most crucial work is leading the transition to Australia’s clean energy future. The traditional coal system that served our country for decades is nearing the end of its life, to be replaced by wind and solar generation. We’re making the right decisions now to prepare for the opportunities and challenges ahead – a changing climate, population growth and technology innovation. As we lead the way towards a more resilient future, we’re working closely with our customers and communities to make sure no one is left behind. Wherever you are in NSW or the ACT, you can be confident in the reliable, affordable and sustainable electricity we transmit as we make a better power system for generations to come.

🌟 Important update for NSW: Hunter Transmission Project 🌟 Working closely with local communities and EnergyCo, we're excited to announce another big step towards a cleaner, more affordable renewable energy future for homes and businesses. We're proud to be nominated by EnergyCo as the preferred network operator for the Hunter Transmission Project. Transgrid CEO Brett Redman shared, “The Hunter Transmission Project is one of the state’s most critical energy projects. It will accelerate the clean energy transition and provide access to cleaner and cheaper energy for households and businesses.” The 100 km, 500 kV transmission line will unlock the electricity supply from the Central-West Orana and New England renewable energy zones, ensuring energy security as we transition from coal-fired power stations to renewable energy. Collaboration is at the heart of this project. We are committed to working closely with EnergyCo and the local community to make this vision a reality. Thank you to everyone contributing to this effort as we continue to build meaningful connections that power a sustainable energy future for generations to come. 👉 Find out more about the Hunter Transmission Project: https://lnkd.in/gD7D-PfZ Penny Sharpe Hannah McCaughey
💡⚡Another important step for one of NSW's most critical energy projects💡⚡ We've reached a major milestone on the Hunter Transmission Project (HTP), signing a commitment deed with Transgrid as the preferred network operator. The HTP will unlock the supply of clean energy from the Central-West Orana and New England renewable energy zones to homes and businesses across NSW. Through the commitment deed, we will work with Transgrid to ensure smooth and timely delivery of the project as part of the NSW Government’s Electricity Infrastructure Roadmap. Another important milestone is the shortlisting of 7 contractors to participate in the tender phase for design and construction of the project. We are currently finalising the tender documents, which will be issued to the shortlisted contractors early this year. Successful contracts are expected to be awarded in 2026.
