Wastewater treatment plants and sewerage systems present many unique environmental challenges, particularly when it comes to odour management. Our team’s extensive experience in this sector enables us to provide tailored solutions to help mitigate the issues and help ensure your projects are compliant from day 1. For example, we undertook both odour and noise impact assessments to support proposals for the Howard Sewerage Project for Fraser Coast Regional Council. These assessments are a critical aspect of the design and approvals process. We used the CALPUFF air dispersion model to predict the extent of odour impacts on neighbouring communities and according to a range of regulatory criteria. CALPUFF is designed to simulate the movement and transformation of pollutants over complex terrains and varying land use, making it a powerful tool for environmental assessments. Greenhouse and air emission inventories can be so much more than a compliance register to meet your annual reporting requirements. By providing a detailed snapshot of all your emissions sources, they can also help you to really understand the impact of your operations and make data-driven decisions that optimise outcomes for all your stakeholders. At Trinity, our practical emissions experience makes us a standout in this space. We don’t just compile data and submissions, we also have extensive experience in source emission monitoring, engineering and mass balance calculations and emission factor derivation for inventory development. Many of our air quality specialists have been working in the field for more than 20 years, covering numerous companies and sectors. Our team can provide: ➡️NGERS and SGM reporting ➡️NPI reporting ➡️Emission modelling ➡️Emission inventories. Contact Andrew P Martin if you’d like to talk about your GHG or air emission inventory requirements. https://lnkd.in/eSa3PK_p #emissions #emissionsreporting

Congrats to Hasan Shahariar, Ph.D, CAQP. Shahariar yesterday for his very useful paper presented on ‘rotten egg gas’ … 🥚💨😆 Hydrogen sulfide (as it’s more commonly known in industry!) is one of the main causes of odour and corrosion in sewer networks. Hasan shared a detailed case study of its management and optimal dosing methodology, based on a complex client project he undertook earlier this year. An experienced environmental engineer, Hasan and the Trinity team delivered odour management services for a sewer network in a new estate development that supported around 4,500 residential lots, schools, golf courses, and 20 hectares of commercial and community precincts. Hasan’s paper wrapped up our presentations at this year’s fantastic CASANZ (Clean Air Society of Australia and New Zealand) Clean Air Conference, but we’ll still be around today, hearing more insights from our industry peers from around the world. 🌎 Thanks so much to all the conference organisers and attendees. We look forward to seeing you all again in a couple of years! Andrew P Martin, Gary Hall Samuel Wong Hector Machado #CASANZ #CleanAirConference #CleanAirConference2024 #cleanair #airquality

Well done to Trinity team members Samuel Wong and Hector Machado, who both presented papers at the CASANZ (Clean Air Society of Australia and New Zealand) Clean Air Conference yesterday! As our air quality modelling lead, Sam shared the results of his GRAL vs CALPUFF model comparison. Sam used an example of fumigant emissions from shipping containers to demonstrate how GRAL may be able to provide more realistic predictions in complex environments. 🚢 🚢 He also examined how both sets of modelling results compared to monitoring data, and how this might impact the vent management plan for the client. Meanwhile, our passionate air quality all-rounder Hector made his own comparisons – this time between meteorological models (WRF vs TAPM). Meteorological modelling is a critical first step in air dispersion modelling, as it forms the basis for predicting pollutant dispersion, and Hector’s data demonstrated that WRF’s superior outcomes may be worth the additional high performance computing investment that the model requires. 🖥️🖥️ If you missed either of the sessions and you’re at the conference, please seek us out! Or, DM Sam, Hector or Andrew P Martin for a chat. #CASANZ #CleanAirConference #CleanAirConference2024 #cleanair #airquality

The CASANZ (Clean Air Society of Australia and New Zealand) Clean Air Conference kicks off today, but our team has hit-the-ground running after contributing 2 weekend workshop presentations to get in the spirit of all things air, odour and emissions. 😊 Sharing practical learnings is a vital part of these conferences, and Andrew P Martin and Gary Hall were proud to be invited to do so alongside a number of their peers as part of Sunday’s pre-conference program. 🧑🏫 An air quality scientist of more than 30 years’ experience, Andrew has amassed extensive field and scientific knowledge across all facets of air quality management. His workshop on directional dust measurement took participants through some of our latest methodologies and tips. Andrew also shared some of the team’s recent learnings around regulatory context for dust management, including current international trends. Meanwhile, Gary, who leads our air quality monitoring team, facilitated an insightful session on the latest emissions testing practices, illustrated with case studies from our numerous projects undertaken for diverse locations and industries over the past 12 months. Of particular interest to attendees was Gary’s overview of equipment the Trinity team is using in field, including our portable Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) analyser, which is capable of monitoring multiple gases simultaneously, even in hot, wet, aggressive gas streams. Stay tuned over the coming days as we share more conference highlights from the Trinity team! #CASANZ #CleanAirConference #CleanAirConference2024 #cleanair #airquality #dust

Twice the air quality conferences means twice the fun! ☁️☁️ Who else is looking forward to the double-billing of the CASANZ (Clean Air Society of Australia and New Zealand) biennial Clean Air Conference and the IWA Odours and Air Emissions Conference at the end of this month?! Five members of our expert air quality team — Andrew P Martin, Gary Hall, Samuel Wong, Hector Machado, Hasan Shahariar, Ph.D, CAQP. — will join more than 300 delegates in Hobart to present their papers on subjects from modelling shipping container emissions to modelling meteorology, directional dust measurements, odour control and stack emission testing. It’s a diverse range of topics, but we’re a diversely talented team. 😊😊 We can’t wait to hear from everyone else too! Sharing learnings and exchanging ideas in these forums is a fantastic way to create collaborative better practice, which benefits our industry, our clients and our planet. 🌎🌎 Give us a shout if we’ll see you there!! https://lnkd.in/gqPgBMsT #CASANZ #CleanAirConference #CleanAirConference2024 #cleanair #airquality

Dust can be a continual challenge for many businesses operating in the manufacturing and processing industries. Particularly for those operating in close proximity to their neighbours. At Trinity, our air quality team supports diverse clients to manage dust impacts by providing high quality directional dust monitoring and sampling. Understanding the origin of the dust is essential to its management. We work closely with our clients to design and execute customised monitoring programs. Typically, we instal directional dust gauges at multiple locations on a site and collect samples at regular intervals over a set period to establish a baseline data set. Combining this baseline data set with site-specific meteorological inputs, we then use state-of-the-art software to analyse and interpret the information. We’re able to provide a much clearer picture for the company on the direction in which dust contributions occur and how much dust disperses to and from the site. If this sounds like it might be a useful part of your dust solution, get in touch with Andrew P Martin or Hector Machado to find out more.
