The Fair Work Commission's (FWC) latest move could be a game-changer for businesses in Australia. They're looking at making working from home (WFH) a legal right under the Clerks – Private Sector Award, which means employers might have some new challenges to deal with. While this could be great news for employees wanting more flexibility, some are saying it could put even more pressure on small and medium businesses already juggling lots of new regulations. Take a look at the article to see how this might impact the future of work. So grateful for my walk this week with Nicole Turnbull from Neon Shed I absolutely loved the perspectives and insights she shared. Nicole is such a thoughtful and inspiring voice, and I’m thrilled to see that she’s running for MidCoast Council. Best of luck, Nicole Turnbull we’d love to have a voice like yours in our community! 🩷 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗜’𝗺 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗱 𝗼𝗳 Starting Neon Shed and diving into the darkest sides of workplaces.. Being able to change the look of terror when it comes to bullying, harassment and conflict to one of confidence and calm is why I love what I do. 🩷 𝗠𝘆 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝗺𝘆 𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗱 Do it! We need more passionate people in the field of safety. How can we foster safer and more supportive workplaces? Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve had the pleasure of connecting with mid-coast HR professionals through Australian HR Institute (AHRI) network forums to explore this very question. We’ve gathered in Taree, Port Macquarie, and Coffs Harbour to dive into discussions on psychological safety and the importance of both prevention and response. A huge thank you to Stefanie Barker Taresa Rosten, Martin Minogue, and Blyde Neser Kerry Murnain for making these events possible. Your efforts in bringing us together for these meaningful conversations are truly appreciated. I’m excited about the upcoming events! If you missed the previous gatherings, there’s still plenty of opportunity to connect and join us in the future. Let’s keep learning and growing together! Starting today, employees across Australia have the right to disconnect after hours. That means no more feeling obligated to answer work calls or emails outside their working hours - unless it’s truly necessary. This new law is all about helping your team strike a better work-life balance, which can lead to happier, more productive employees. It’s a great opportunity to rethink how we approach after-hours communication and set clear boundaries. How will you adapt to this change? If you need help navigating this change, feel free to reach out. Let’s chat about how the right to disconnect can benefit both your business and your team!
