Do you think data is changing how communities are shaped? If not, why not? In their latest post, Planwisely jumps into the topic of location intelligence and what its real value is to local council planners: #locationintelligence #australia #localcouncil #peoplemovementdata
To properly meet their community's needs, council planners need a holistic and evidence-based understanding of how people move and behave. To meet these needs, councils can leverage numerous geospatial datasets and tools of analysis to uncover location intelligence, which can have a telling impact on how communities are shaped and maintained. Here's how: #localcouncil #locationintelligence #gis #spatialanalysis #geospatial

That's it for this year's AITPM - Leadership in Traffic and Transport National Transport Conference, and what a week it's been! There were healthy debates, fascinating presentations, engaging speakers and plenty of insights and experience to go round, all touching on the theme of how we can navigate to a better future using shared transport goals. This year, the conversation focused on the crucial role of collaboration to help create meaningful change and move the narrative forward in a clear and purposeful way. Thanks to everyone who contributed to the event to make it such a success (including our team out in Perth) - it was great to hear from so many like-minded professionals at this year's conference. #aitpmperth2024 #AITPM24 #NationalTransportConference #Transport #Networking #cityshaping #transportmodelling

The emergence of new spatial datasets (and tools to analyse them) has the potential to give active transport planners a more intimate understanding of walk and cycle travel patterns than ever before. Find out what the future could hold for active transport planning by taking a look at Planwisely's latest article on the subject: #activetransport #transportplanning #gis #locationintelligence #geospatial #spatialanalysis
Active transport planning has traditionally been on the back foot 👣 when compared to the planning of roads and highways for private, public and commercial vehicles. Simply put, there's just always been more data available on road travel and more infrastructure in place for collecting that data; however, this gap is closing. Want to find out how? Check out our latest post about the 5 ways that data will unlock the future of active transport planning: #activetransport #sustainability #mobilitydata #transportplanning #smartcities #geospatial #gis

We're thrilled to have touched down in Perth for this year's AITPM - Leadership in Traffic and Transport National Transport Conference 2024, and our team are already up and running at the event. After our national webinar on Activity Based Models (ABMs), our own Aliasgar (Ali) Inayathusein addressed the topic of 'Using ABMs for economic appraisal' to discuss the question: how can we use new strategic modelling tools to analyse equity, active modes and complex pricing or charging regimes? Thanks to everyone who attended, we can't wait to continue discussing what's happening in the industry now, its future and the part we all have to play over the course of the next few days. #aitpmperth2024 #TransportInnovation #PerthConference #FutureofTransport #transportmodelling

Good placemaking builds meaningful connections between people and places - here are some real-world examples from Planwisely that show it in action:
Successful placemaking improves community health by enriching people’s experience of a place, making it feel ‘alive’ in ways that magnetise people and create a sense of attachment to it. How that manifests in the real world, however, can sometimes feel like a vague and abstract urban planning principle. So, here are some clever placemaking examples in action that show this powerful and innately human concept at work: #placemaking #urbanplanning #australia #sustainablecities #streetart
