As part of R U OK?Day, we had the privilege of hearing from Preeti Raghwani, who bravely shared the story of her daughter Ziya’s brief but impactful life to team members across Australia. Ziya was diagnosed with Mitochondrial disease, a debilitating genetic disorder that robs the body’s cells of energy which can lead to organ dysfunction and failure. Despite the heavy trauma, Preeti and her family learned the true meaning of happiness through this heart-breaking process by not taking any moment for granted with Ziya. Preeti now encourages us to live life with intention, discover our passions, be good humans & to find glimmers in the darkness. For those privileged enough to hear Preeti share her story we are now asking ourselves, what was today’s glimmer? It’s a small but impactful way to ground our intentions for living. You can read more of Preeti and Ziya’s story on the Mito Foundation website here: https://lnkd.in/gfskf5nC. Mitochondrial disease can cause any symptom in any organ at any age.
