Volunteering SA&NT is a not-for-profit organisation, the peak body for volunteering and a volunteer resource centre, leading the sector in South Australia and the Northern Territory. For 35 years, we have worked with individuals, organisations, businesses and communities to lead, advance, grow, promote and celebrate volunteering. Through key partnerships, we provide a range of services, support and resources for over 2,000 volunteer-involving organisations and just under a million volunteers, which contributes to positive volunteering experiences and the strengthening of communities. In South Australia there are more than 900,000 volunteers, whose contribution is valued at around $5 billion annually and in the Northern Territory, more than 70,000 volunteers, whose contribution is valued at around $3.3 billion. Volunteering SA&NT began working in the Northern Territory in 2007 and re-branded as Volunteering NT in December 2016.

⭐Central Australia winner highlights⭐ 🏆 Mona Ulak - Chief Minister’s Volunteer of the Year In the past 15 years, Mona has volunteered in various roles in Alice Springs, including Chairperson of Multicultural Community Services Central Australia since 2021, shaping migrant settlement policy. She was a Multicultural Community Representative on the Ministerial Advisory Council for Multicultural Affairs (2019-2022) and has chaired BDOIH for 3 years, growing it into a major cultural event with over 2,000 attendees annually. Since 2015, she has been the founder and Chairperson of Nepalese Community Alice Springs NCAS, organizing cultural events for its 1,000 members. Her contributions significantly impact Central Australia's multicultural landscape. 🏆 Women’s Museum of Australia - Chief Minister’s Community Volunteer Organisation/ Team of the Year The Volunteer team at WMoA have shown long-term dedication to serving the community. They play a crucial role in preserving and showcasing the place of women in Australia's history. This has led to a tangible increase in the documentation and recognition of women's achievements, contributing to a more comprehensive understanding of women's roles in society. They help with different initiatives aimed at preserving and promoting both the WMoA and Old Gaol and have been instrumental in gaining the Museum in 2019 the title of National Museum of Significance by the National Library of Australia. Volunteering SA&NT encourages grassroots volunteer involving organisations to apply for a grant for one-off, time limited projects that build volunteer management capability within organisations to uplift volunteer capability, including volunteer knowledge, skills and volunteer numbers, allowing the organisation to better support vulnerable and disadvantaged people. Community organisations interested in participating can complete a short online form to express their interest.
