It might seem like only frontline volunteers can help out during an emergency… but that’s far from the truth. Community volunteers provide crucial support to people and communities impacted by an emergency. They might help clean up after the disaster, rebuild fences, or get behind the kitchen to provide those affected with a hot meal. There are plenty of ways you can provide support before, during and after an emergency. The first step is registering your details at emergency.volunteer.org.au, and you’ll be contacted if you’re needed—it’s that easy.

Volunteering WA life members are special members of the community, and we're pleased to welcome two new additions to the list: Dr Megan Paull and David Morrison. Dr Megan Paull's involvement with Volunteering WA began in the 1990s and included two terms on our Board, 35 years of volunteer research, and involvement in both our Research Committee and the Volunteering Community Reference Group. David Morrison has championed volunteering as both a Director of Volunteering WA (2010-2016) and on the national Volunteering Australia Board (2013-2016). Since 2018, he's been the Chair of Volunteering WA, offering invaluable governance guidance and strategic insight throughout his tenure. We wish to thank Megan and David for their outstanding service and congratulate them on their well-deserved Life Membership.

Wrapping up a successful Annual General Meeting! 👏 Thank you to everyone who attended the Volunteering WA AGM yesterday. In this year's AGM we heard reports from some of our volunteering leaders, welcomed new Board Directors, said warm farewells to two Board Members, approved new life memberships, and of course had some nibbles and networking. We also had the pleasure of having David Morrison chair the meeting and heard from Alanagh Godderidge (Motion by the Ocean Inc.) as our special guest—thank you both. We wish to extend a warm thank you to everyone who helped make the night happen, including Bankwest, who provided us the space to host the AGM. Bankwest is a long time supporter and Corporate Volunteering partner and we appreciate their support. Together, we can transform the landscape of volunteering in WA ❤️ Read Volunteering WA's 2023-24 Annual Report and Financial Report: https://lnkd.in/gn8akqSf
