After numerous visits to galleries across the USA—from Pennsylvania and Virginia to Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, and New York, David Klineberg and I finally had the chance to see some of Eadweard Muybridge’s original works from the 1880s today in San Francisco. Back in 2018-2019, I was inspired by Muybridge’s pioneering work in chronophotography, capturing the movement of animals and humans. By 2020, under the exceptional technical leadership of Dr. Amit Gupta my team and I developed an AI-powered system to analyze human locomotion, fully automating the process. We also filed patents for our innovative methods of creating biomechanical models and insights using computer vision and machine learning. Fast forward to 2024, we have analysed over 50,000 athlete assesssments and are now working with some of the best athletes and teams on the planet, with the technology changing outcomes in player health, injury prevention and performance. Our mission as a company extends far beyond athletes. We aim to improve millions of lives globally. This technology will play a critical role as we age or even recover from surgery, offering rapid assessments of general health, potential early detection of disease and provide more accurate evaluations of medical interventions. In the evolving landscape of healthcare, such precise and timely insights are becoming invaluable.

Being able to assess how #athletes move in their natural environment relative to their #sport, is crucial for decision making when it comes to interventions for improving performance, injury prevention and rehabilitation. A lot of testing today is done, statically, vertically or in isolation - however there is nothing in the weight room or controlled lab environment, that comes close to the ground reaction forces when accelerating, running and decelerating. Earlier this week, VueMotion President Ryan Talbot and 1080 Motion President Peter Holmertz met in Austin Texas to bring together 2 amazing technologies - combining both kinematic and kinetic outputs, to test a range of athletic based movements. Apple's new iPhone 16 was also put through its paces using Vuemotion's state-of-the-art app, and for the first time in the world - utilised the first application based 4k, 120 fps directly from the phone in this space. This is a very exciting time for the future of sport science - helping to protect players and improve performance for a large range of sports across the #globe. Thank you to the The New Zealand Herald and AWS for publishing such an inspiring story. VueMotion would like to wish Zoe Hobbs and her coach James Mortimer a successful Olympic campaign. #olympics #sport
Zoe Hobbs is making history as the first female NZ athlete to compete in the 100m at the Olympic Games in nearly 50 years. She's not just competing—she's a strong contender for making the final and bringing home a medal. The NZ Herald have done a great job with this story. VueMotion are pleased to play a small roll in a very big dream. Thanks to #AWS and Paul Devlin, DBA for the ongoing support in helping us power better movement for the world of sport. Wishing Zoe Hobbs and her coach, James Mortimer, the best of luck in the coming days. https://lnkd.in/g4AHQr3V
